4 <br />10/23/72 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened <br />at 9:30 A.M., on Monday, October 23, 1972. All members were <br />present. Minutes of the previous meetine were read and approved. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT A.recommendation from Chief .Seals requested that <br />the sick time of Russell Ryker be extended and that he be assigned <br />to inside desk duty until full recuperation was approved by the <br />Board. Upon motion made seconded and carried, this was extended <br />until November 20, 1972. <br />SPECIAL POLICE COMMISSIONS Special Police Commissions were re- <br />ceived from Hozie Simmons and John J. Zielsinski, guards for Drewry's <br />Ltd., and upon motion made, seconded and carried, were referred to <br />the Legal Department for study. <br />BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB STANDARDS DIVISION <br />Mr. Isaiah Steed, Sub -Standards Director, was present and matters <br />pertaining to his department were discussed. <br />2422 Linden Avenue The matter of the sub -standard condition of <br />the structure at 2422 Linden Avenue had been continued to this <br />date. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board now <br />instructs Mr. Steed to seek bids for the demolition of the structure. <br />625 Walnut Street Th matter of the sub -standard condition of the <br />structure at 625 Walnut Street had been continued to this date. Now <br />upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board authorized Mr. <br />Steed to seek bids for the demolition of the structure. <br />1122 Bissell Street The matter of the sub -standard condition of <br />the structure at 1122 Bissell Street, was, upon Mr. Steed's <br />recommendation, continued for one week. <br />1205 Dunham Street The matter of the sub -standard condition of <br />the structure at 1205 Dunham Street was continued to this date. <br />Now, upon motion made, seconded and carried, Mr. Steed is author- <br />ized to seek bids for the demolition of the structure. <br />1020 Fuerbringer Street Mr. Glen Odom was instructed to '!appear <br />before the Board to inform them if he was interested in trying to <br />bring the structure at 1020 Fuerbringer Street up to standard. <br />Mr. Steed is, upon motion made, seconded and carried, authorized <br />to seek bids for the demolition of the structure, since Mr. Odom <br />did not appear. <br />2221 Smith Street No receipts for the registered letter having <br />been received this matter is continued for one week. <br />202 Pennsylvania Avenue No receipts for the registered letter <br />sent by the Sub -Standard Division having been received, this <br />matter is continued for one week. <br />516 Euclid Avenue This being the date set for receiving bids for <br />the demolition of the structure at 516 Euclid Avenue, the following <br />bids are now opened and read, after ascertaining the non -collusion <br />affidavits are in proper order <br />Michiana Builders $675.00 <br />O'Neal Trucking 594.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the award was made to <br />the O'Neal Trucking Company on its low bid of $594.00. <br />Willia Mae Williams, 1043 Portage Avenue, then made her presence known <br />and stated she had a private contract for the demolition of the building. <br />
