10/16/72 <br />October 13, 1972 <br />Mr. William Richardson <br />City Engineer, <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Dear Mr. Richardson: <br />The below listed units are hereby declared scrap and should be <br />dispositioned as soon as possible, i.e.: <br />One (1) Truck International 1961 1 ton pick up S/N <br />C1200-SB 204787B <br />This truck has been cannibalized to such an extene that <br />only a rusty and damaged skeleton exists. <br />One (1) Steam Cleaner Unit (Malsbury) consists of: Heating <br />Coils Assembly, and solution tank includes in i H.P. 230V <br />motor which can be removed and perhaps used in our garage. <br />These units are all mounted on a single pedestal. <br />One (1) Floor Sweeper (Advance) Model R 636 G S/N 91150. <br />Repair parts are not procurable.. <br />For your information there is a possibility of disposing <br />this unit for about $200.00 to Armands Searchlight Service <br />for their use in calvaging parts to repair the one that they <br />have in their possession. <br />Please advise what course of action that I should take <br />to remove the above units from our premises due to the need of "space." <br />Sincerely, <br />Stanley M. Stat. #48-6936 property owned by the city <br />which is no longer needed or is unfit for its intended purpose, if the <br />value is less than $500.00 may be sold at a public or private sale <br />without advertising, but subject to written authorization by the <br />Executive Authority of the Municipality. <br />It is now determined that the Board of Public Works and Safety of <br />the City of South Bend is the Executive Authority, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF <br />THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, That the following equipment is <br />not needed by the City of South Bend, and the value of the property <br />is less than $500.00 and may be disposed of by private sale without <br />advertising: <br />One (1) truck International 1961 1 ton pick up SN 204787E <br />One (1) Steam Cleaner Unit (Malsbury) <br />One (1) Floor Sweeper ( Advance), Model R 636 G SN 91150 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the above resolution was <br />adopted. <br />CHANGE ORDER - CLEVELAND ROAD SEWER EXTENSION <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, Change Order No. 1 for <br />the Howell Construction Company was approved in the amount of $5,535.00. <br />This is for the purpose of tunnelling under Portage Avenue instead of <br />an open cut. <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
