3 <br />October 10, 1972 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened <br />at 9:30 A.M. on Tuesday, October 10, 1972. All members were <br />present. Minutes of the Last meeting were read and approved. <br />DESIGNATE VETERAN'S DAY <br />Mr. Sweeney stated that the City of South Bend for holiday purposes <br />will designate November llth as Veteran's Day. Since it falls on <br />Saturday, that will cause Monday, November 13th to be a holiday. <br />BIDS FOR RENOVATION TO MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM <br />This being the date set for receiving bids for the renovation of the <br />Morris Civic Auditorium, the following bids were opened and read: <br />South Side Electric Company <br />902 West Indiana Avenue <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Non -collusion affidavit was found to be in proper order and a <br />bid bond in an amount of 5% of the bid accompanied bid. <br />Total bid $14,300.00 <br />Ideal Consolidated, Inc., <br />806 West Samp;le Street <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Non -collusion affidavit -was found to be in proper order and a bid <br />bond in an amount of 5% of the bid accompanied bid. <br />Total bid $13,985.00 <br />Aulm Construction Company <br />1320 Franklin Street <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Non -collusion affidavit was found to be in proper order and a bid <br />bond in an amount of 5% of the bid accompanied bid. <br />Total bid $9,816.00 <br />Christmas Company <br />850 Fellows Street <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Non -collusion affidavit was found to be in proper order and a bid <br />bond of 5% of the bid accompanied the bid. <br />Total bid $9,990.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bids were referred to <br />the consulting Engineer for tabulation and report as soon as possible. <br />The Engineer declared that the bids were within the estimate. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT Chief Bland was present and matters pertaining to <br />his department were discussed. <br />SICK LEAVE OVER THIRTY DAYS - DALE T. FORTIN <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board accepted the re- <br />commendation of Chief Bland and granted Dale T. Fortin an extended <br />sick leave to November 1, 1972. <br />J <br />
