3 October 10, 1972 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works and Safety convened at 9:30 A.M. on Tuesday, October 10, 1972. All members were present. Minutes of the Last meeting were read and approved. DESIGNATE VETERAN'S DAY Mr. Sweeney stated that the City of South Bend for holiday purposes will designate November llth as Veteran's Day. Since it falls on Saturday, that will cause Monday, November 13th to be a holiday. BIDS FOR RENOVATION TO MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM This being the date set for receiving bids for the renovation of the Morris Civic Auditorium, the following bids were opened and read: South Side Electric Company 902 West Indiana Avenue South Bend, Indiana Non -collusion affidavit was found to be in proper order and a bid bond in an amount of 5% of the bid accompanied bid. Total bid $14,300.00 Ideal Consolidated, Inc., 806 West Samp;le Street South Bend, Indiana Non -collusion affidavit -was found to be in proper order and a bid bond in an amount of 5% of the bid accompanied bid. Total bid $13,985.00 Aulm Construction Company 1320 Franklin Street South Bend, Indiana Non -collusion affidavit was found to be in proper order and a bid bond in an amount of 5% of the bid accompanied bid. Total bid $9,816.00 Christmas Company 850 Fellows Street South Bend, Indiana Non -collusion affidavit was found to be in proper order and a bid bond of 5% of the bid accompanied the bid. Total bid $9,990.00 Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bids were referred to the consulting Engineer for tabulation and report as soon as possible. The Engineer declared that the bids were within the estimate. FIRE DEPARTMENT Chief Bland was present and matters pertaining to his department were discussed. SICK LEAVE OVER THIRTY DAYS - DALE T. FORTIN Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board accepted the re- commendation of Chief Bland and granted Dale T. Fortin an extended sick leave to November 1, 1972. J
