I'l <br />9/25/72 <br />EMPLOYEES SAFETY DIRECTOR TO CONFERENCE <br />A request was received from Paul Gervas, Employees Safety Director, <br />to attend the National Safety Congress and Exposition in Chicago, <br />Illinois on October 30 through November 2. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the request was granted. <br />JO'HN ADAMS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PARADE <br />A memo was received from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting stating <br />they recommended that permission be granted to hold a football <br />parade on Friday, September 29, 1972 from 3:45 to 5:00 P.M. Upon <br />motion made, seconded and carried, the Board accepted the recomm- <br />endation and granted the request of the Uohn Adams High School to <br />hold the parade. <br />REQUEST J. C. PENNY STORE TO USE PARKING -SPACE <br />A memo was received from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting stating <br />they recommended that permission be granted for the J. C. Penney <br />Store to reserve three meters in front of their store on Ockrober <br />4, 1972 for the purpose of holding a reception for Miss U.S.A. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board accepted the rec- <br />ommendation and granted the request of the J. C. Penny Company. <br />OFFER TO PURCHASE CITY OWNED LAND <br />Offers have been made to purchase the -following land owned by the <br />City: <br />1611 S. William Street 314 E. Bronson Street <br />308 N. Cushing Street 713 N. Hill Street <br />520 N. Eddy Street 518 N. Eddy Street <br />1046 Georgiana Street 1315 S. Main Street <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the above matter was referred <br />to the Legal Department .for the preparation of an ordinance to the <br />Common Council. <br />EXCAVATION BOND - WORKINGER ELECTRIC INC. <br />An Excavation bond was approved and ordered filed for Workinger <br />Electric Company to September 21, 1973. <br />REQUEST FOR STREET LIGHT INSTALLATION <br />A petition was received, containing nine signatures, requesting the <br />installation of a street light in :the middle of the block of the <br />2200 Block of South Douglas Street, preferably in front of 2204 South <br />Douglas. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, this was referred <br />to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for study and report. <br />RECOMMENDATION OF BUREAU OF TRAFFIC AND LIGHTING ON STREET LIGHTS <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting has recommended the installation of <br />a street light on Renfrew Court. Upon motion made, seconded and carried <br />the recommendation was adopted and the Traffic Bureau was directed to <br />order a light installed in Renfrew Court. <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting has recommended the installation <br />of five street lights, on Napier, Thomas and Jefferson streets approximately <br />150 feet west of Chapin Street and in the 900 and 1000 blocks on Thomas <br />Street. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board accepted the <br />recommendation and ordered the lights installed. <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting has recommended the installation of <br />a street light near the curve on Widner Lane. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the Traffic Bureau was directed to order the light installed. <br />
