9/25/72 LETTER FROM REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION RE: NORTHEAST NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL To: Board of Public Works and Safety From: Lloyd S. Taylor Date: September 25, 1972 At a special meeting of the Northeast Neighborhood Council PAC Committee, on Monday, September 18, 1972, they voted to recommend to the Department of Redevelopment that work on the 000 and 800 blocks of Sorin Street be stopped and that the proposed improvements and widening not be done in these blocks. The vote of residents in these two blocks was over- whelming in support of this motion. A vote to stop work in the 900 and 1000 block of Sorin Street failed, and it is, therefore, their recommendation that the improvements in these two blocks be completed. The Department of Redevelopment supports these two motions and recommends to the Board of Public Works that r-# we drop the improvements in the 700 and 800 blocks and complete the improvements in the 900 and 1000 blocks,. of East Sorin Street. s/ Lloyd S. Taylor, Executive Director Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board adopted the rec- ommendation. ASSESSMENT ROLL FILED VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3368,1972 ST PETER STREET William J. Richardson, City Engineer, files an assessment roll showing the award of damages and the assessment of benefits in Vacation Res- olution No. 3368,1972 for the vacation of St. Peter Street from the South Right-of-way line of Cedar Street running South 410' to the North right-of-way line of Madison Street. The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such vacation: Lots 10,11 and 12 of Howard's Sub. S. Part Lot 8 of Cotterell's 1st Add. Lots 13, 14 and 15 of Howard's Sub. N. Part Lot 8 of Cotterell's 1st. Add. Total, net benefits $00.00 Total net damages $00.00 Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board adopted said Assessment Roil and set 9:30 A.M., October 16, 1972, Room 1308 of the County City Building, South Bend, Indiana, as the date and place for hearing all persons interested in or affected by such vacation. ASSESSMENT ROLL HEARING VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3364,1972 - PARALLEL This being the date set, hearing was had on the Assessment Roll in Vacation Resolution No. 3364,1972, for the vacation of the alleys, streets and easements in an area bounded by the south right of way line of Linden Avenue, by the east right of way of College Street, the north right of way line of Orange street and the west right of way line of Birdsell Street. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri County News on September 1, September 8 and September 15, 1972 and same were found to be sufficient. No remon- strators having appeared and. no written remonstrances having been
