9/25/72 <br />LETTER FROM REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION RE: NORTHEAST NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL <br />To: Board of Public Works and Safety <br />From: Lloyd S. Taylor <br />Date: September 25, 1972 <br />At a special meeting of the Northeast Neighborhood Council PAC Committee, <br />on Monday, September 18, 1972, they voted to recommend to the Department <br />of Redevelopment that work on the 000 and 800 blocks of Sorin Street <br />be stopped and that the proposed improvements and widening not be done <br />in these blocks. The vote of residents in these two blocks was over- <br />whelming in support of this motion. <br />A vote to stop work in the 900 and 1000 block of Sorin Street failed, <br />and it is, therefore, their recommendation that the improvements in <br />these two blocks be completed. The Department of Redevelopment supports <br />these two motions and recommends to the Board of Public Works that <br />r-# we drop the improvements in the 700 and 800 blocks and complete the <br />improvements in the 900 and 1000 blocks,. of East Sorin Street. <br />s/ Lloyd S. Taylor, Executive Director <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board adopted the rec- <br />ommendation. <br />ASSESSMENT ROLL FILED VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3368,1972 ST PETER STREET <br />William J. Richardson, City Engineer, files an assessment roll showing <br />the award of damages and the assessment of benefits in Vacation Res- <br />olution No. 3368,1972 for the vacation of St. Peter Street from the <br />South Right-of-way line of Cedar Street running South 410' to the <br />North right-of-way line of Madison Street. <br />The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected <br />by such vacation: <br />Lots 10,11 and 12 of Howard's Sub. S. Part <br />Lot 8 of Cotterell's 1st Add. <br />Lots 13, 14 and 15 of Howard's Sub. N. Part <br />Lot 8 of Cotterell's 1st. Add. <br />Total, net benefits $00.00 <br />Total net damages $00.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board adopted said <br />Assessment Roil and set 9:30 A.M., October 16, 1972, Room 1308 of <br />the County City Building, South Bend, Indiana, as the date and place for <br />hearing all persons interested in or affected by such vacation. <br />ASSESSMENT ROLL HEARING VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3364,1972 - PARALLEL <br />This being the date set, hearing was had on the Assessment Roll in <br />Vacation Resolution No. 3364,1972, for the vacation of the alleys, <br />streets and easements in an area bounded by the south right of way <br />line of Linden Avenue, by the east right of way of College Street, <br />the north right of way line of Orange street and the west right of <br />way line of Birdsell Street. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend <br />Tribune and the Tri County News on September 1, September 8 and <br />September 15, 1972 and same were found to be sufficient. No remon- <br />strators having appeared and. no written remonstrances having been <br />
