REGULAR MEETING JUNE 9, 1975 <br />CONTRACTS FOR GAS SERVICE APPROVED - MUNICIPAL SERVICES FACILITY <br />Contracts were submitted to the Board by Alex Marosz of the Northern <br />Indiana Public Service Company for Gas Service to the Municipal <br />Services Facility. Mr. Marosz explained to the Board that one contract <br />was to change the rate charge from Rate 21 to Rate 25 which would <br />result in a savings to the City of about $1000 per year. The other <br />contract is for another meter at the Municipal Services Facility <br />and reflects the increase in gas prices. Kathleen Cekanski, Deputy <br />City Attorney, reviewed the contracts and recommended approval. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the contracts <br />and they will be submitted to the Northern Indiana Public Service <br />Company for their approval. <br />AGREEMENT - ENGINEERING AND RECONSTRUCTION OF A PORTION OF LOGAN STREET <br />An Agreement between the City of South Bend and the City of Mishawaka <br />for engineering and reconstruction of a portion of Logan Street from <br />the Grand Trunk and Western Railroad to Keller Street was submitted to <br />O the Board. Mr. Farrand said he prepared the agreement and has verbal <br />cc agreement from Mr. Koontz, City Engineer of Mishawaka, Indiana. The <br />all engineering is to be done by,Cole Associates. Mr. Farrand recommended <br />p� approval. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved <br />CIZ the agreement and it will be forwarded to the Board of Public Works <br />and Safety of the City of Mishawaka for their approval. <br />LETTER RE: MILITARY HELICOPTER LANDINGS <br />The Board received a letter from the National Guard and a recommendation <br />from James A. Roemer that the National Guard be allowed to resume <br />helicopter landings at their Armory Property on Kemble Avenue. Mr. <br />Roemer recommended that the landings be approved and that he be <br />authorized to write the National Guard giving such permission. Upon <br />motion made, seconded and carried, the Board accepted Mr. Roemer's <br />recommendation and authorized him to give permission for the landings. <br />LETTER REQUESTING PURCHASE OF 239 N. STUDEBAKER STREET <br />The Board received a request from James Pope,1408 W. Linden Avenue, <br />that he be allowed to purchase the city -owned property at 239 N. <br />Studebaker Street. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board <br />directed that a resolution be prepared providing for the sale of the <br />property, after a determination had been made that there was no need <br />for the City to retain the property. <br />LETTER RE: OLD FIRE STATION NO. FOUR <br />The following letter was received: <br />"Gentlemen: <br />The Bureau of Buildings and Permits of the Department of <br />Public Works has made an inspection of the above referenced <br />property. This property is zoned "A" Residence Use <br />District at this time. <br />This inspection was made by Mr. Forrest R. West, Building <br />Commissioner, and Mr. Paul Roelke, Commercial Building <br />Inspector. As a result of this inspection please be <br />advised that we do not find the building as being sub- <br />standard for its present use. While many aspects of the <br />building may be unattractive or obsolete, they do not <br />pose code violations. <br />
