REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 17 1975 <br />REQUEST TO INSTALL COLLECTION BOXES AT MAIN=POST OFFICE RECEIVED <br />The Post Office Department sent a request to the Board for <br />permission to install additional collection boxes for mail drops <br />at the Main Post Office. A sketch showing the proposed locations <br />was submitted. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request <br />was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for -review and <br />recommendation. <br />REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL PARKING AT STATE EMPLOYMENT OFFICE RECEIVED <br />A letter was received by the Board from Councilman Walter Kopczynski <br />and Councilman Walter Szymkowiak asking that the.parking problem <br />around the Indiana State Employment Office be investigated. Mr. <br />Farrand noted that this matter has been discussed by the members of <br />the Board and steps are being taken to eliminate the problem. Upon <br />motion made, seconded and carried, the letter was referred to the <br />Department of Public Works for investigation and report. <br />REQUEST TO SELL POPPIES - AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY UNIT 50 APPROVED <br />The Board received a request from the American Legion Auxiliary,.Unit <br />No. 50 to sell poppies on the streets on May 16 and 17, 1975. Upon <br />W motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request and <br />directed that the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police <br />Department be advised of the approval. <br />APPLICATION APPROVED FOR SALE OF FLOWERS ON RIVER BEND PLAZA <br />The Board received an application from Inwood's Store to sell green <br />carnations on River Bend Plaza in connection with the St. Patrick's <br />Day Celebration on March 17, 1975. The application was favorably <br />recommended by Louis Wilcox, Director. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the application was approved. <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES APPROVED <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting recommended the following <br />installations to the Board: <br />A. Installation of parking meters in the 100 block East Helmen <br />Court. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request was <br />approved. <br />B. Installation of a stop sign at Helmen Court and St. Joseph Street. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the installation was <br />approved. <br />C. Request permission to allow two parking meters to be bagged <br />at 319 South Main Street during a construction period. A fee <br />of $5.00 per day per meter will be paid. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the request was approved. The estimated <br />construction time is three months. <br />BOND APPROVED <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, recommended to the Board <br />that the contractor's bond for Associated Concrete Company was properly <br />executed and could be approved. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the bond was approved to 3/5/76. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period of March 6 through March <br />13 was received. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the report <br />was ordered filed. <br />
