yj 1 6 <br />REGULAR MEETING MARCH 3, 1975 <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3414, 1975 <br />RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF`THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />indiana,'that it is desirable to vacate the following: <br />The first east -west alley south of Ruskin Street between <br />Esther Street and Greenlawn Avenue from the west line of <br />Lot 16 as shown on the recorded plat of G. W. Mikesell's <br />First Addition to the City of South Bend, running thence west <br />a distance of 341.45 feet, more or less, to the east line <br />extended, of a 14 foot north -south alley, which is the first <br />north -south alley east of Esther Street. <br />Reserving the rights and easements of all Utilities and the <br />Municipal City of South Bend, Indiana, to construct and maintain <br />any facilities, including, but not limited to, the following: <br />electric, telephone, gas, water; sewer, surface water control <br />structures and ditches, within the vacated right of way, unless <br />such rights are released by the individual Utilities. <br />The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected <br />by such vacation: <br />Lots 16, 108, 109, 110, 111, 112,_113, 114, 115 <br />Notice of this Resolution shall be published on the 7th and 14th <br />day of March, 1975 in the South Bend Tribune and in the Tri-County <br />News. <br />This Board, at its office, on the 31st day of March, 1975, at <br />9:30 o'clock, A.M, will hear and receive remonstrances from all <br />persons interested in or affected by these proceedings. <br />Adopted this 3rd day of March,-1975. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/ Rollin E. Barcome <br />ATTEST: <br />s/ Patricia DeClercq, Clerk <br />RECO14MENDATION TO AWARD STREET SWEEPER BIDS <br />The Board received the following recommendation from Donald <br />Decker: <br />"Board of Public Works <br />Gentlemen: <br />It is my recommendation that the Board award Ries Equipment <br />Co. the bid as submitted for the purchase of two (2) Elgin <br />Pelican Street Sweepers in accordance with the Cities <br />specifications. Their base bid of $22,800.00 plus the <br />option of a GMC 3-53 Diesel engine at $3,600.00 is completely <br />within the specifications requested. <br />The bid submitted by MacDonald Machinery Co. to furnish the <br />Wayne model 1-993 Street Sweeper is $1905.00 per unit less" <br />than the Elgin Pelican, however, they are not fully within <br />the published specifications: Upon further investigation I <br />found there were but three other sweepers of this model in the <br />state of Indiana, two (2) in Indianapolis and one in Terre <br />Haute. I contacted the Street Commissioners in both cities <br />
