yj 1 6 REGULAR MEETING MARCH 3, 1975 VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3414, 1975 RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF`THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, indiana,'that it is desirable to vacate the following: The first east -west alley south of Ruskin Street between Esther Street and Greenlawn Avenue from the west line of Lot 16 as shown on the recorded plat of G. W. Mikesell's First Addition to the City of South Bend, running thence west a distance of 341.45 feet, more or less, to the east line extended, of a 14 foot north -south alley, which is the first north -south alley east of Esther Street. Reserving the rights and easements of all Utilities and the Municipal City of South Bend, Indiana, to construct and maintain any facilities, including, but not limited to, the following: electric, telephone, gas, water; sewer, surface water control structures and ditches, within the vacated right of way, unless such rights are released by the individual Utilities. The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such vacation: Lots 16, 108, 109, 110, 111, 112,_113, 114, 115 Notice of this Resolution shall be published on the 7th and 14th day of March, 1975 in the South Bend Tribune and in the Tri-County News. This Board, at its office, on the 31st day of March, 1975, at 9:30 o'clock, A.M, will hear and receive remonstrances from all persons interested in or affected by these proceedings. Barcome ATTEST: s/ Patricia DeClercq, Clerk RECO14MENDATION TO AWARD STREET SWEEPER BIDS The Board received the following recommendation from Donald Decker: "Board of Public Works Gentlemen: It is my recommendation that the Board award Ries Equipment Co. the bid as submitted for the purchase of two (2) Elgin Pelican Street Sweepers in accordance with the Cities specifications. Their base bid of $22,800.00 plus the option of a GMC 3-53 Diesel engine at $3,600.00 is completely within the specifications requested. The bid submitted by MacDonald Machinery Co. to furnish the Wayne model 1-993 Street Sweeper is $1905.00 per unit less" than the Elgin Pelican, however, they are not fully within the published specifications: Upon further investigation I found there were but three other sweepers of this model in the state of Indiana, two (2) in Indianapolis and one in Terre Haute. I contacted the Street Commissioners in both cities
