3Q .1 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 24, 1975 <br />PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT,, PROJECT'R & S 52, ANGELA AND <br />NORTH MICHIGAN STREET <br />The Project Completion Affidavit for Project R & S 52, the Angela and <br />North Michigan Street intersection improvements was submitted to the <br />Board. The final cost of the project was $110,197.65. Upon <br />motion made, seconded and carried, the Project Completion <br />Affidavit was approved. ; <br />RECOMMENDATION FROM AREA PLAN COMMISSION RE: PETITION TO/VACATE <br />EAST -WEST ALLEY SOUTH OF RUSKIN STREET i <br />The Board received a report from the Area Plan Commission that a <br />public hearing was held on February 18, 1975 on the petition of <br />.Associates Bancorp, Inc. for the vacation of the east -west alley <br />south of Ruskin Street, between Esther Street and Greenlawn <br />Avenue. The Plan Commission favorably recommends the petition to <br />the Board. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the report was <br />ordered filed and the petition was referred to the Division of <br />Engineering for preparation of the Vacation Resolution. <br />REQUEST FOR HEART ASSOCIATION CYCLE-A-THON <br />The Board received a letter from Sharon Carter, representing the <br />'=7 American Heart Association. They requested that the Board waive <br />its guidelines and permit them to hold a Cycle -A -Thou on the City <br />Bike Route on April 5th, with an alternate date of May loth. Plans <br />for the event were begun in September, 1974 but they were not aware <br />of the Board's rule regarding six months advance notice. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the Board referred the request to the <br />Bureau of Traffic and Lighting to see whether arrangements can)be <br />worked out, -and to make a recommendation to the Board. <br />REQUEST TO PARK TRAILER ON TREE LAWN ON CEDAR STREET APPROVED <br />Dye Plumbing & Heating Company had requested that they be allowed <br />to park a job trailer on the street or on the tree lawn area on <br />Cedar Street near St. Joseph Hospital. Clem Hazinski, Manager of <br />the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting reported to the Board that he <br />had reviewed the request and he recommended they use a space in the <br />tree lawn area. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board <br />approved Mr. Hazinski's recommendation to allow the trailer to <br />park in the tree lawn area, with the provision that the tree lawn <br />be left in the same condition as it was found. <br />REQUEST TO PLACE BICYCLE RACKS IN FRONT OF THE PUBLIC LIBRARY <br />The Board received a request from Roger Francis of the South Bend <br />Public Library to place two new bicycle racks on the sidewalk in <br />front of the library. The racks will allow bicycles to have the <br />front wheels locked in to provide more security. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting for review and recommendation. <br />PAYMENT REQUEST APPROVED - WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT ADDITIONS <br />Payment Request No. 40 in the amount of $28,966.87 from the <br />Sollitt Construction Company for work on the Wastewater Treatment <br />Plant Additions was submitted to the Board. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the payment request was approved. <br />FILING OF MICHIANA REGIONAL AIRPORT STUDY <br />The Board received and filed a copy of the Michiana Regional <br />Airport Terminal Site Location Study. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the report was referred to Rollin Farrand for review. <br />REQUEST FOR PARADE - CHET WAGGONER LITTLE LEAGUE <br />The Board received a request from the Chet Waggoner Little League to <br />hold a parade on May 24, 1975. They submitted a proposed route and <br />request a police escort. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, <br />the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for <br />review and. recommendation. <br />
