o ws REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 10, 1975 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:30 a.m, on Monday, February 10, 1975 with all members present. Deputy City Attorney Kathleen Cekanski was also present. Minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and approved. BIDS REJECTED - BUREAU OF STREETS SWEEPERS The Board received a recommendation from Donald Decker, Director, Division of Transportation, that bids for the street sweepers opened on January 6, 1975 be rejected. One bid was within specifications but was over the amount anticipated and the two lower bids were not within the specifications. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board rejected the bids, BID ADVERTISING APPROVED - BUREAU OF STREETS SWEEPERS Donald Decker, Director, Division of Transportation, recommended that the Board re -advertise for bids for street sweepers and enclosed revised specifications so that the bids received would be within the proposed expenditure. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the recommendation and directed the Clerk to advertise for bids with bids to be received on February 24, 1975 at 9:30 a.m. VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3411, 1975 Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the following resolution was adopted by the Board: VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3411, 1975 RESOLVED, BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, That it -is desirable to vacate the following: The north -south alley between Taylor Street and William Street running north from Monroe Street to the first east -west alley as found on the Recorded Plat of William E. Vail's Southwest Addition to the Town, now City of South Bend. Reserving the rights and easements of all Utilities and the Municipal City of South Bend, Indiana, to construct and maintain any facilities, including, but not limited to, the following: electric, telephone, gas, water, sewer, surface water control structures and ditches, within the vacated right of way, unless such rights are released by the individual Utilities. The following property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such vacation: Lots 5 to 8 inclusive and Lots 13 to 16 inclusive located in part of Vdil's Southwest Addition. Notice of this Resolution shall be published on the 14th and 21st day of February, 1975 in the South Bend Tribune and in the Tri- County News. This Board, at its office, on hte loth day of March, 1975 at 9:30 o'clock A.M. will hear and receive remonstrances from all persons interested in or affected by these 'proceedings.
