REGULAR MEETING <br />JANUARY 13, 1975 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works convened at 9:30 a.m. <br />on Monday, January 13, 1975 with all members present. Deputy City <br />Attorney Kathleen Cekanski was also present. Minutes of the previous <br />meeting were reviewed and approved. <br />APPROVAL OF ASSESSMENT ROLL NO. 29741, NORTHWEST SANITARY SEWERS <br />The Board received a letter from the Bureau of Design and Adminis- <br />tration reporting that they had reviewed the questions raised by <br />Mrs. Julius DeMaegt, Mr. Kish and the South Bend Community School <br />Corppration at the public hearing held on the Assessment Roll for <br />the Northwest Sanitary Sewers on January 6, 1975. The letter <br />indicated that all questions had been answered and the Bureau <br />recommended that the Assessment Roll could be approved as filed. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Assessment Roll was <br />approved. <br />REQUEST FOR ST. JOSEPH RIVER RUN <br />Mr. Bruce Carter, representing the Michiana Watershed, was present <br />and submitted a request to the Board to hold the 5th Annual St. <br />Joseph River Run on May 10, 1975. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting, the Police Department Traffic Detail,.the Civil Defense <br />Unit and the Board of Park Commissioners for review and recommendation. <br />CHANGE ORDER AND COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT -REPAIR OF SOUTH BEND DAM <br />The Board received Change Order No. III for the Repair of the South <br />Bend Dam. The Change was a decrease in the contract of $12,942.03 <br />and was to adjust the contract to as -built plans. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the Change Order was approved. <br />The Project Completion Affidavit was received. However the three <br />year maintenance bond was not attached. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the Board approved the Completion Affidavit, subject to <br />receipt of the three year maintenance bond from Raymond International. <br />REgUEST TO TRANSFER COURTESY CAB LICENSE <br />The Board received a request from George Meister to transfer.Courtesy <br />Cab License #7 to Ivan Brockway. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the Board requested that Chief Walsh be directed to make an <br />investigation of the applicant, Ivan Brockway, and make a recommendation <br />to the Board. <br />FILING OF ASSESSMENT POLL - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3407. 1974 <br />Rollin E. Farrand, P. E., City Engineer, files with the Board an Assess- <br />ment Roll for Vacation Resolution No. 3407, 1974, for the vacation_ <br />of the alley between St. Louis and St. Peter Streets from Madison <br />Street south 198 feet, City of South Bend. The following lots may <br />be injuriously or beneficially affected by such vacation: Lots 204, <br />205, 210, 211 and 212 in Samuel Cottrell`s First Addition to Lowell. <br />The Board finds that each of said lots has benefited in theamount of <br />$0.00 and been damaged in the amount of $0.00. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the Board approved the Assessment Roll and'. <br />set February 17, 1975 at 9:30 a.m, as the time and the Board of Works <br />Hearing Room as the place where,.all persons interested in or affected <br />by this vacation may be heard. <br />FILING OF ASSESSMENT ROLL - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3408, 1974 <br />Rollin E.
