REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 13, 1975 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works convened at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 1975 with all members present. Deputy City Attorney Kathleen Cekanski was also present. Minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and approved. APPROVAL OF ASSESSMENT ROLL NO. 29741, NORTHWEST SANITARY SEWERS The Board received a letter from the Bureau of Design and Adminis- tration reporting that they had reviewed the questions raised by Mrs. Julius DeMaegt, Mr. Kish and the South Bend Community School Corppration at the public hearing held on the Assessment Roll for the Northwest Sanitary Sewers on January 6, 1975. The letter indicated that all questions had been answered and the Bureau recommended that the Assessment Roll could be approved as filed. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Assessment Roll was approved. REQUEST FOR ST. JOSEPH RIVER RUN Mr. Bruce Carter, representing the Michiana Watershed, was present and submitted a request to the Board to hold the 5th Annual St. Joseph River Run on May 10, 1975. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, the Police Department Traffic Detail,.the Civil Defense Unit and the Board of Park Commissioners for review and recommendation. CHANGE ORDER AND COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT -REPAIR OF SOUTH BEND DAM The Board received Change Order No. III for the Repair of the South Bend Dam. The Change was a decrease in the contract of $12,942.03 and was to adjust the contract to as -built plans. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Change Order was approved. The Project Completion Affidavit was received. However the three year maintenance bond was not attached. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the Completion Affidavit, subject to receipt of the three year maintenance bond from Raymond International. REgUEST TO TRANSFER COURTESY CAB LICENSE The Board received a request from George Meister to transfer.Courtesy Cab License #7 to Ivan Brockway. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board requested that Chief Walsh be directed to make an investigation of the applicant, Ivan Brockway, and make a recommendation to the Board. FILING OF ASSESSMENT POLL - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3407. 1974 Rollin E. Farrand, P. E., City Engineer, files with the Board an Assess- ment Roll for Vacation Resolution No. 3407, 1974, for the vacation_ of the alley between St. Louis and St. Peter Streets from Madison Street south 198 feet, City of South Bend. The following lots may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such vacation: Lots 204, 205, 210, 211 and 212 in Samuel Cottrell`s First Addition to Lowell. The Board finds that each of said lots has benefited in theamount of $0.00 and been damaged in the amount of $0.00. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the Assessment Roll and'. set February 17, 1975 at 9:30 a.m, as the time and the Board of Works Hearing Room as the place where,.all persons interested in or affected by this vacation may be heard. E., City Engineer, files with the Board an Assess- ment Roll for Vacation Resolution No. 3408, 1974 for the vacation of a portion of Colfax Avenue west of Jackson Street and the north -south alley from Washington Street to Colfax Avenue, City of South Bend.
