REGULAR MEETING
OCTOBER 28, 1974
REQUEST FOR POLICE PERSONNEL ON THE PLAZA ON FOOTBALL SATURDAYS,
Mr Louis Wilcox, Director of River Bend Plaza, and Mr. Karl King,
Chairman of ,the River Bend Plaza Advisory Committee, requested
that police personnel be assigned to the Plaza area on Satudays
when Notre Dame has a home football game. It was noted that during
last week's game, there were no officers on the Plaza and there
were problems with bicyclists and unruly people. The Police Depart-
ment was contacted and they said that because of personnel assigned
to the football traffic and to the time of the shift change, no
officers were present. Mr. King said uniformed officers visible on
the Plaza have kept problems to a minimum and he hoped it could be
arranged to have at least one officer on the Plaza on football
Saturdays. The matter was taken under advisement by the Board and
it will be discussed at cabinet meeting...
There being no further business to come before the Board, upon
motion made, seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned at 10:40 a.m.
e
ATTEST: V
CLERK
