REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 21, 1974 <br />9 <br />u <br />LETTER FROM MRS. HORVATH RE:.RESURFACING OF SHERMAN AVENUE <br />The Board received a letter from Mrs. L. E. Horvath, 1005 Kinyon <br />Street, expressing the thanks of area residents for the recent <br />resurfacing of Sherman Avenue. Upon motion made; seconded and <br />carried, the Board ordered the letter filed and directed that a <br />copy be sent to Donald Decker, Bureau of Streets. <br />HALLOWEEN EVENTS ON RIVER BEND PLAZA AND CLOSING OF WASHINGTON"STREET <br />APPROVED <br />River Bend Plaza Director Louis Wilcox presented a Schedule of Events <br />for Halloween on River Bend Plaza for the Board's approval. He also <br />requested that Washington Street be closed, from Michigan Street <br />to St. Joseph Street, from 5:00 p.m. until the cdnclusion of the <br />Street Dance at approximately 10:00 p.m. on October 31st. Upon <br />motion made, seconded and carried, the Schedule of Events was filed <br />and the Board approved the request to close Washington Street, subject <br />to coordination with the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the <br />Bureau of Police. <br />APPROVAL OF HEAD START APPLICATION RIVER BEND PLAZA <br />The Board received an application from Head Start to park a van on <br />the Supergraphic area of River Bend Plaza on October 22nd. The <br />application was recommended favorably by Louis Wilcox, Director. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the <br />application. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period of October 6 through <br />October 12 was received and, upon motion made, seconded and carried, <br />was ordered filed. <br />REQUEST FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT BIKE AUCTION <br />The Board received a request from Chief Robert J. Urban for permission <br />to hold a bike and unclaimed property auction on Friday, November 8, <br />1974 in the Police Garage from 12:00 noon. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the request was tabled and was referred to the Legal <br />Department, the Deputy City Controller, and David Sypniewski, Fiscal <br />Officer for the Police Department, for a review of the planned <br />disposition of funds raised and a recommendation:to the Board. <br />INSTALLATION OF STREET LIGHTS APPROVED <br />The Board received recommendations from the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting for the installation of the following street lights: <br />A. 3200 York Road. Install 1 7,0001, MC Traditionaire <br />@ $6.50 <br />Install 2 7,000L MV Traditionaire <br />@ $6.35 - $12.70 <br />Remove 2 1,000L INC UG @ $2.00 <br />-$4.00 <br />Cost - $15.20/mo. or $182.40/yr. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the installation <br />was approved. <br />B. Meadowview Area. Install 7 7,0001, MV OH WP @ $3.50/mo.o <br />Install 15 7,000L MV OH WP @ $3.75/mo. <br />Remove 7 4,0001, MV OH WP @ $3.15/mo. <br />Cost - $58.70/mo. or $704.40/yr. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the installation <br />was approved. <br />
