_. 2 2 <br />REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 21, 1974 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and.carried, the bids were referred to <br />the Bureau of Police for review and recommendation. <br />CHANGE ORDERS APPROVED - AIRPORT INDUSTRIAL PARK <br />Change Orders for the Airport Industrial Park were presented to <br />the Board. The first was a duplicate of a Change Order approved <br />by the Board on August 19, 1974 which was submitted to the E.D.A. <br />for approval and has been lost. The Change Order was -.for the <br />signal installation and was an increase of $49,980.75. Upon <br />motion made, seconded and carried, the Change Order was approved. <br />The second Change Order was to cover moving the railroad location <br />to the end of the South Shore tracks and into the Industrial Park <br />and was an increase of $13,084.91. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the Change Order was approved. <br />REPORT ON PETITION TO VACATE ALLEY ST. JOSEPH'S.HOSPITAL <br />The Bureau of Design and.Administration reported to the Board that <br />they had reviewed the petition of St. Joseph's Hospital to vacate <br />the alley between St. Louis and St. Peter Street from Madison Street <br />South 198' and have to objection to the vacation.. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the petition was referred to the Area Plan <br />Commission for their review and recommendation. <br />RECOMMENDATION ON PETITION TO VACATE A PORTION OF SUNNYMEDE AVENUE <br />The Board received a recommendation from the Area Plan Commission <br />regarding the petition to vacate a portion of Sunnymede Avenue. <br />At the public hearing held on October 15, 1974 by the Area Plan <br />Commission, the petitioner amended the petition to exclude that <br />portion of Sunnymede Avenue located between the east line of <br />36th Street and the west -line of 35th Street. The Area Plan <br />Commission made a favorable recommendation to the Board of Public <br />Works on the petition to vacate a portion of Sunnymede Avenue <br />as amended. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the recommendation <br />of the Area Plan Commission was approved and the petition was referred <br />to the Division of Engineering for preparation of the Vacation <br />Resolution. <br />FILING OF PETITION TO VACATE ALLEY - GATES REALTY INC. <br />Gates Realty, Inc., by their attorney Thomas Brunner, Jr., files <br />their petition to vacate the north -south alley between Taylor and <br />William Streets running from Monroe Street north. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the Board referred the petition to the Division <br />of Engineering for preliminary review and recommendation. <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES APPROVED <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting recommended the installation of <br />the following traffic control devices: <br />Stop Sign on Clements Street and Linden Road <br />Two Hour Parking Limit at 1701 S. Michigan Street. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the <br />installations. <br />PAINTING HOUSE NUMBERS ON CURBS APPROVED <br />The Board received a request from Dynamo, a Junior Achievement Company, <br />to paint house numbers on curbs in front of residences. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request with the <br />stipulation that the homeowners be contacted before the numbers are <br />painted. The Board also directed that if the project appears to be <br />reaching $500 in sales, a permit be applied for from the Charitable <br />Solicitations Commission. <br />1 <br />
