REGULAR MEETING ISEPTEMBER 9, 1974 <br />APPROVAL OF DEDICATION OF A PORTION OF O.'BRIEN STREET <br />Mr. Farrand informed the Board that the Great Horizons Development <br />Corporation had amended their dedication to include all their <br />property and the dedication was now ready for approval, subject to <br />the installation of sidewalks on the Great Horizons property. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the dedication of O'Brien <br />Street from the south line of Werwinski Street south a distance <br />of 163 feet was approved, subject to the installation of sidewalks <br />on the properties owned by the Great Horizons: Development Corporation. <br />PETITION FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL <br />The Board received a petition submitted by L. Kent Wilcox of the <br />South Bend Housing Authority on behalf of residents at the high-rise, <br />requesting that a traffid1 signal be installed at Western Avenue and <br />Scott Street. The petition was referred to the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS - SALT, BUREAU OF STREETS <br />The Board received a request from Donald Decker to advertise for bids <br />for salt for the 1975-75 season for <br />motion made, seconded and carried, <br />and directed the Clerk to advertise <br />September with bids to be opened at <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES APPROVED <br />snow and ice control. Upon <br />the Board approved the request <br />for bids on the 13th and 20th of <br />9:30 a.m. on September 23, 1974. <br />The Board received a recommendation from the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting that stop signs be installed on Oakside, Dayton, Farneman, <br />Tasher and Dean at their intersection with South Main Street. Upon <br />motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the installation. <br />REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS - LIQUID CALCIUM CHLORIDE <br />The Board received a request from Donald Decker to advertise for bids <br />for liquid calcium chloride. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the Board approved the request and directed the Clerk to <br />advertise for bids on the 13th and 20th of September, with bids to <br />be received at 9:30 a.m. on September 23, 1974. <br />AGREEMENTS WITH MISHAWAKA AND MICHIGAN CITY FOR PROJECT R.I.N.G. <br />The Board received Agreements with the City of Mishawaka and the City <br />of Michigan City for participation in Project R.I.N.G. for the leasing <br />of cars. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the agreements were <br />referred to the Board of Safety for a recommendation. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, upon <br />motion made, seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned at 10:45 a.m. <br />,Pow <br />Rollin 11 <br />.
