Q <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 9, 1974 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works convened at 9:30 a.m. <br />on Monday, September 9, 1974 with Mr. Farrand and Mr. Seitz present. <br />Minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and approved. Deputy <br />City Attorney Kathleen Cekanski was also present. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - SALE OF CITY -OWNED REAL ESTATE <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for the sale of parcels of <br />City -owned real estate. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of <br />notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were <br />found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly <br />read: <br />602 W. LaSalle - Bid from Charles Hahn, Attorney, on behalf of Roger <br />Stouffer - $860.00 <br />This was the only bid received on the property and was equal to the <br />Offering Price. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board <br />accepted the bid and awarded the sale of the property at 602 W. <br />LaSalle Street to Roger Stouffer. <br />The Board received no bids on the property at 1809 Florence St. They <br />did receive an offer to purchase the property from David Sypniewski <br />for an amount less than.the offering price. The ordinance which pro- <br />vides for the sale of city -owned real estate stipulates that if no <br />bid equal to or more than the offering price is received, the Board may <br />readvertise for the sale of the property on credit. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the Board authorized readvertising for bids for <br />the sale of the property at 1809 W. Florence St. <br />Irene Stewart, 610 E. Ohio Street, was present and inquired about <br />the property at 608 E. Ohio Street. This property was not advertised <br />for sale. The Board directed that the Clerk check into the ownership <br />of the property at 608 E. Ohio Street and contact Miss Stewart. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - CREST MANOR SEWERS, HUFFMAN AND BERKSHIRE DRIVES <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for the construction of <br />sanitary sewers in Crest Manor, between Huffman Drive and Berkshire Drive, <br />authorized under Improvement Resolution No. 3403. The Clerk tendered <br />proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- <br />County News which were found to be sufficient. The followig bids <br />were opened and publicly read:_ <br />Dye Plumbing & Heating Company <br />Bid - $21,343.25 <br />Marion Hamilton <br />Bid - $15,161.50 <br />Bid was signed by Charles T. <br />Dye, non -collusion affidavit was <br />in order and a 5% bid bond <br />accompanied the bid. <br />Bid was not signed. <br />Bradberry Brothers Bid was signed by W. J. Brad - <br />berry, non -collusion affidavit <br />was in order and a certified <br />Bid - $16,539.00 check accompanied the bid. <br />Joe Proccacino, Inc. Bid form was not signed, so bid was not read. <br />H. DeWulf Mechanical Contractor <br />Bid - $15,749.00 <br />Bid was signed by Henry DeWulf, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in <br />order and a 5% bid bond <br />accompanied the bid. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bids were referred to <br />the Bureau of Design and Administration for review and recommendation. <br />I <br />1 <br />1 <br />
