Q REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 9, 1974 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works convened at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, September 9, 1974 with Mr. Farrand and Mr. Seitz present. Minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and approved. Deputy City Attorney Kathleen Cekanski was also present. OPENING OF BIDS - SALE OF CITY -OWNED REAL ESTATE This was the date set for receiving bids for the sale of parcels of City -owned real estate. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: 602 W. LaSalle - Bid from Charles Hahn, Attorney, on behalf of Roger Stouffer - $860.00 This was the only bid received on the property and was equal to the Offering Price. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board accepted the bid and awarded the sale of the property at 602 W. LaSalle Street to Roger Stouffer. The Board received no bids on the property at 1809 Florence St. They did receive an offer to purchase the property from David Sypniewski for an amount less than.the offering price. The ordinance which pro- vides for the sale of city -owned real estate stipulates that if no bid equal to or more than the offering price is received, the Board may readvertise for the sale of the property on credit. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board authorized readvertising for bids for the sale of the property at 1809 W. Florence St. Irene Stewart, 610 E. Ohio Street, was present and inquired about the property at 608 E. Ohio Street. This property was not advertised for sale. The Board directed that the Clerk check into the ownership of the property at 608 E. Ohio Street and contact Miss Stewart. OPENING OF BIDS - CREST MANOR SEWERS, HUFFMAN AND BERKSHIRE DRIVES This was the date set for receiving bids for the construction of sanitary sewers in Crest Manor, between Huffman Drive and Berkshire Drive, authorized under Improvement Resolution No. 3403. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found to be sufficient. The followig bids were opened and publicly read:_ Dye Plumbing & Heating Company Bid - $21,343.25 Marion Hamilton Bid - $15,161.50 Bid was signed by Charles T. Dye, non -collusion affidavit was in order and a 5% bid bond accompanied the bid. Bid was not signed. Bradberry Brothers Bid was signed by W. J. Brad - berry, non -collusion affidavit was in order and a certified Bid - $16,539.00 check accompanied the bid. Joe Proccacino, Inc. Bid form was not signed, so bid was not read. H. DeWulf Mechanical Contractor Bid - $15,749.00 Bid was signed by Henry DeWulf, non -collusion affidavit was in order and a 5% bid bond accompanied the bid. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bids were referred to the Bureau of Design and Administration for review and recommendation. I 1 1
