I126 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 191 1974 <br />REQUEST FOR CITY TO ASSUME RE. 4dIBILI'TY FOR STREET LIGHT <br />A request from Roland Longley and residents of the 700 block Cleveland <br />Avenue was presented to the Board. The residents have been paying <br />for a street light at the alley intersection in the 700 block Cleveland <br />Avenue. Since the City has now put lights in the area, they feel the <br />City should assume responsibility for this light. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the Board referred the request to the Bureau <br />of Traffic and Lighting for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST FOR BLOCK PARTY <br />The Board received a request from Mr. & Mrs. Victor Papai to hold <br />a block party on Winston Drive on Sunday, July 7 from noon until <br />8:00 p.m. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board referred <br />the request to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review and <br />recommendation. <br />APPROVAL OF BONDS <br />The Board received a recommendation from Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of <br />Engineering, that the following bonds could be approved: <br />Continuation Certificate, Excavation Bond for Sid's Plumbing <br />and Heating to 12/31/74 <br />Contractor's Bond for Daniel Skwarcan to 5/20/75' <br />Contractor's Bond for Herman F. Glaser Const. Co. to 6/14/75 <br />Contractor's Bond for Stafford Const. Co. to 6/12/75 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bonds were approved to <br />the dates listed. <br />PETITION TO VACATE A PORTION OF SUNNYMEDE AVENUE FILED <br />The Whitmore Corporation, by its Attorney James Groves, files its <br />petition to vacate Sunnymede Avenue from the 1st alley west of 34th <br />Street East to 36th Street. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, <br />the petition was referred to the Division of Engineering for preliminary <br />review and recommendation. <br />EXCAVATION BOND FOR DAVE KOLLAR PLUMBING RELEASED <br />A request was received from the Bonding Company requesting that the <br />Excavation Bond of Dave Kollar be released. MY. Ray S. Andrysiak, <br />Bureau of Engineering, reported to the Board that the bond could be <br />released as there are no outstanding claims against this contractor. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Excavation Bond for <br />Dave Kollar plumbing was released as of June 19, 1974. <br />FILING OF APPLICATIONS FOR RIVER BEND PLAZA OPENING <br />Mr. Louis Wilcox, Director, River Bend Plaza, was present and <br />submitted the following applications for booths on the Plaza for <br />the Grand Opening. <br />Display Booths: Christian Science Reading Room, Laura Green, <br />Coalition for E.R.A., Roberta M. Ross, Broadway Theatre League, <br />South Bend Artists Guild, Inc., Mrs. Richard Grzegorek, Committee on <br />Options in Public School, Jim Staunton, John Ehmann, New York Life <br />Mobile Information Unit, <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the above display booths <br />were approved. <br />Applications for the Princess Fireworks Company, LaSalle Pancake <br />and Snack Shop, Carriage Crafts, Bisons Basketball Team, and <br />David Matthews were approved subject to their providing the proper <br />liability insurance, licenses and health permits where applicable <br />
