124 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 19, 1974 <br />CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES RECONSTRUCTION OF OLIVE STREET <br />SEWERS APPROVED <br />A contract with Murphy Consultants for engineering services for the <br />reconstruction of the Olive Street sewer between Indiana Avenue and <br />Delaware Street was presented to the Board. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the contract was approved and signed. <br />CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES APPROVED - SAMPLE STREET <br />IMPROVEMENT <br />A contract with Murphy Consultants for engineering services for the <br />Sample Street Improvement, from Olive Street to Chapin Street was <br />presented to the Board. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the <br />contract was approved and signed. <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES APPROVED <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting recommended approval of the <br />following traffic control devices: <br />1. Stop Sign on Glenlake at York Road. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the installation was approved. <br />2. No Parking Sign, alley behind 419 W. Ewing where cars parked <br />interfere with a loading dock area. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the installation was approved. <br />3. Removal of two hour parking signs, 230 E. Tutt Street. <br />Ample off-street parking is now available. Upon motion <br />made seconded and carried, the removal was approved. <br />4. Stop Sign on Birchwood, at Meadow Lane. This wars a previously <br />uncontrolled T intersection. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the installation was approved. <br />5. Yield Sign on Birchwood, south of Silver Lane. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the installation was approved. <br />6. Stop Sign on Silver Lane at Edison. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the installation was approved. <br />7. Removal of Right Turn Must Turn Right sign north side of <br />1000 W. Angela. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the <br />removal was approved. <br />8. Yield Sign on Berkshire at York Road. Upon motion made, <br />seconded and carried, the installation was approved. <br />APPROVAL TO OPEN PARKING GARAGES ON JUNE 30 AND JULY 4 <br />Milton Hoffman, Manager of the Municipal Parking Facilities, requested <br />that the Board allow the two parking garages to open on Sunday, June <br />30 and Thursday, July 4 for the opening of the Festival 174 Week -on <br />River Bend Plaza and that parking in the garages and the City -operated <br />flat lots be free for those two days. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the Board approved the request. <br />STREET SERVICES APPROVED <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Legal Department reviewed <br />the request of Missionary Martha White to conduct Street Services <br />and to carry a sign and approval was recommended provided there is no <br />obstruction of traffic in the areas. Upon motion made, seconded and <br />carried, the Board approved the request to hold Street Services at <br />6:00 p.m. on Fridays in the 100-300 block Chapin Street and at 6:00 <br />p.m. on Saturdays at Walnut and Washington Street until the end of <br />August, subject to the stipulation that there be no obstruction of <br />traffic in either area. <br />n <br />
