REGULAR MEETING <br />REQUEST FOR BLOCK PARTY <br />MAY 28, 1974 <br />The Board received a request from Mrs. Joyce Kraus to hold a block <br />party in the 1300 and 1400 block of Sunnymede Avenue on June 14 <br />from 5:00 to 11:30 p.m. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the <br />request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for <br />review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST FROM WE TOGETHER SINGERS FOR TAG DAYS <br />The Board received a request from the We Together Singers to hold <br />Tag Days on August 24 and 25 in the down town area and at shopping <br />centers. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved <br />the request subject to a permit being granted from the Charitable <br />Solicitations Commission and permission obtained from the shopping malls. <br />TITLE SHEET APPROVING PLANS FOR PORTAGE GARDENS SEWER SIGNED <br />The Board received the title sheet approving plans for the Portage <br />Gardens sewers. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the title <br />sheet approving the plans was signed. <br />j APPROVAL OF BONDS <br />W <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, recommended to the Board <br />approval for the following bonds: <br />EXCAVATION: 0. J. Shoemaker, Inc. to 12/31/74 <br />Larry Spromberg d/b/a <br />L.S. Plumbing & Heating to 8/16/74 <br />CONTRACTOR: Verlin V. Engle d/b/a Engle Construction to 5/19/75 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bonds were approved to <br />the dates listed. <br />NEIGHBORHOOD CLEAN-UP RESOLUTION ADOPTED <br />Upon motion made, seconded and.carried, the following resolution <br />was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 12, 1974 <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works recognizes the benefits of <br />Neighborhood Clean -Up Programs, and desires to encourage such efforts, <br />the Board of Public Works does, therefore, adopt the following rules <br />and procedures governing such neighborhood clean-up programs: <br />1. A request must be made in writing to the Board of Public <br />Works four (4) weeks in advance of the proposed clean-up date. <br />2. The request shall state: <br />a) Name of organization promoting program <br />b) Date, time and rain date <br />c) Area included in program <br />d) Number of trucks required <br />e) Address where trucks are to report <br />f) Person in charge of program <br />g) Positive statement that people will be provided by <br />sponsoring organization to load trucks <br />The request will be referred to the Bureau of Streets who will <br />determine the availability of trucks and drivers. The Bureau of Streets <br />will make a written recommendation to the Board of Public Works based <br />on the above determination. <br />The request shall also be referred to the Fiscal Officer of the <br />Department of Public Works who will coordinate the program with the <br />
