REGULAR MEETING REQUEST FOR BLOCK PARTY MAY 28, 1974 The Board received a request from Mrs. Joyce Kraus to hold a block party in the 1300 and 1400 block of Sunnymede Avenue on June 14 from 5:00 to 11:30 p.m. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the request was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for review and recommendation. REQUEST FROM WE TOGETHER SINGERS FOR TAG DAYS The Board received a request from the We Together Singers to hold Tag Days on August 24 and 25 in the down town area and at shopping centers. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request subject to a permit being granted from the Charitable Solicitations Commission and permission obtained from the shopping malls. TITLE SHEET APPROVING PLANS FOR PORTAGE GARDENS SEWER SIGNED The Board received the title sheet approving plans for the Portage Gardens sewers. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the title sheet approving the plans was signed. j APPROVAL OF BONDS W Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, recommended to the Board approval for the following bonds: EXCAVATION: 0. J. Shoemaker, Inc. to 12/31/74 Larry Spromberg d/b/a L.S. Plumbing & Heating to 8/16/74 CONTRACTOR: Verlin V. Engle d/b/a Engle Construction to 5/19/75 Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bonds were approved to the dates listed. NEIGHBORHOOD CLEAN-UP RESOLUTION ADOPTED Upon motion made, seconded and.carried, the following resolution was adopted: RESOLUTION NO. 12, 1974 WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works recognizes the benefits of Neighborhood Clean -Up Programs, and desires to encourage such efforts, the Board of Public Works does, therefore, adopt the following rules and procedures governing such neighborhood clean-up programs: 1. A request must be made in writing to the Board of Public Works four (4) weeks in advance of the proposed clean-up date. 2. The request shall state: a) Name of organization promoting program b) Date, time and rain date c) Area included in program d) Number of trucks required e) Address where trucks are to report f) Person in charge of program g) Positive statement that people will be provided by sponsoring organization to load trucks The request will be referred to the Bureau of Streets who will determine the availability of trucks and drivers. The Bureau of Streets will make a written recommendation to the Board of Public Works based on the above determination. The request shall also be referred to the Fiscal Officer of the Department of Public Works who will coordinate the program with the
