AA <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 6, 1974 <br />REQUEST FOR BLOCK PARTY <br />The Board received a request from Mrs. Jan Reineke to hold a Block <br />Party on Sunday, June 2, 1974 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the <br />3300 block of South Twyckenham Drive. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the Board referred the request to the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting for review and recommendation. <br />REQUEST TO BLOCK COUNCIL OAK DRIVE <br />The Board received a request from the Panorama of Homes to block <br />Council Oaks Drive from Bendix Drive to Tomahawk Trail, from May <br />6 through May 19, 1974. The street closing is requested from <br />4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on week days and from l to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and <br />Sundays. Mr. Farrand said he has discussed the request with Clem <br />Hazinski, Manager, Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, and they have <br />approved the request, providing the City is indemnified. Upon motion <br />made, seconded and carried, the street closing was approved, subject <br />to indemnity insurance being filed with the Board. <br />AGREEMENT OF CONVEYANCE OF ANGELA BLVD. FROM UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME <br />The Board received an agreement from the University of Notre Dame <br />conveying to the City of South Bend .116 acres needed in connection <br />with the reconstruction of the Angela Blvd. -North Michigan Street <br />intersection. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board <br />approved the Agreement and it will be recorded. <br />EXCAVATION BOND FOR DOMINIC BARTOLINI APPROVED <br />Upon the favorable recommendation of Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of <br />Engineering, the Board, upon motion made, seconded and carried, approved <br />the Excavation Bond for Dominic J. Bartolini to May 13, 1975. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Street Light Outage Report <br />for the period of April 25 through May 2, 1974 was ordered filed. <br />REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS - POLICE DEPARTMENT MOBILE RADIOS <br />The Board received a request from Chief Robert J. Urban to advertise <br />for bids for ten portable mobile radios. Chief Urban was present and <br />said that this will enable key personnel of the Police Department to <br />maintain close ties with all communication systems in the County. <br />He said money for the radios was appropriated in this year's budget. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the request <br />and directed that the Clerk advertise for bids on May 10 and May 17, <br />with bids to be received at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, May 20, 1974. <br />REQUEST TO REMOVE PARKING METERS FROM RIVER BEND PLAZA <br />Mr. Louis Wilcox, Director of River Bend Plaza, was present and <br />requested that the Board approve the removal of parking from the <br />100 blocks of North and South Michigan Street by the evening of <br />May 19, 1974. He asked that the parking meters be removed from these <br />blocks. He also requested that the street be cleaned and washed, <br />preparatory to painting them on May 25 and 26. Mr. Barcome asked <br />how many meters would be removed. Mr. Wilcox said he was not sure <br />of the total number. Mr. Barcome noted that the bond ordinance for <br />the parking garages stipulates that the City must maintain a certain <br />number of parking meters. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, <br />the matter was referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for <br />review and recommendation and Mr. Hazinski is to be advised of Mr. <br />Barcome's comments. <br />PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT AND MAINTENANCE BOND FILED - <br />WASHINGTON AVENUE SEWER EXTENSION <br />The Board received a Project Completion Affidavit and Maintenance Bond <br />for the Washington Avenue Sewer Extension, in the area of Summit Drive <br />1 <br />
