Law <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 8, 1974 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board adopted the Assessment Roll <br />and set 9:30 a.m, on Monday, May 13,. 1974, Room 1308, County -City Building, <br />South Bend, Indiana as the date and place of hearing all persons interested in <br />or affected by such vacation. <br />APPROVAL OF BONDS <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, recommended to the Board that the <br />following bonds be approved: <br />EXCAVATION CONTRACTOR'S <br />Alex C. Niezgodski, Jr. to 1/1/75 Leonard Geans to 3/29/75 <br />D & L Construction to 5/19/75 <br />Keith Carbiener Const. Co. to 5/14/75 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bonds were approved to the dates listed. <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE <br />CZ <br />A Certificate of Insurance for the Sollitt Construction Company was, received, <br />and upon motion made, seconded and carried, was filed with the Board. <br />C� <br />W STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage report for the period of March 27 to April 2, 1974 was <br />received and, upon motion made, seconded and carried, ordered filed. <br />PAYMENT REQUEST APPROVED- WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT ADDITIONS <br />The Board received Payment Request No. 31 for the Wastewater Treatment Plant <br />Additions from the Sollitt Construction Company in the amount of $32,433.26. Upon <br />motion made, seconded and carried, the payment request was approved. <br />COUNCILMAN TERRY MILLER PRESENTS PETITION RE: ALLEY, 34TH AND 35THi STREETS <br />Councilman Terry Miller was present and submitted to the Board a letter and a <br />petition signed by residents of 34th and 35th Streets. These residents had their <br />alley blacktopped and the letter noted that on March 29, 1974, the Street Department <br />came through and graded the alley. The residents feel that the Street Department <br />should blacktop the alley since this was their mistake. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the letter and petition were referred to the Bureau of Streets for <br />appropriate action and a report to the Board. <br />VANDALISM IN O'BRIEN PARK <br />Mr. Seitz noted that a light pole has been cut down in O'Brien Park. He said this <br />is most discouraging when the Park Department is trying to upgrade the lighting <br />in City Parks. Such vandalism has cost the City approximately $20,000 in the past <br />three or four -onths. He said the Police Department is cooperating in this matter <br />but it is impossible for them to patrol all Park Department facilities. Mr. Barcome <br />noted that this situation is especially serious since the I & M has notified the <br />City that it will be two and a half years before new poles can be obtained. <br />There bei <br />seconded <br />1 <br />
