Law REGULAR MEETING APRIL 8, 1974 Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board adopted the Assessment Roll and set 9:30 a.m, on Monday, May 13,. 1974, Room 1308, County -City Building, South Bend, Indiana as the date and place of hearing all persons interested in or affected by such vacation. APPROVAL OF BONDS Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, recommended to the Board that the following bonds be approved: EXCAVATION CONTRACTOR'S Alex C. Niezgodski, Jr. to 1/1/75 Leonard Geans to 3/29/75 D & L Construction to 5/19/75 Keith Carbiener Const. Co. to 5/14/75 Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bonds were approved to the dates listed. FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE CZ A Certificate of Insurance for the Sollitt Construction Company was, received, and upon motion made, seconded and carried, was filed with the Board. C� W STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED The Street Light Outage report for the period of March 27 to April 2, 1974 was received and, upon motion made, seconded and carried, ordered filed. PAYMENT REQUEST APPROVED- WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT ADDITIONS The Board received Payment Request No. 31 for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Additions from the Sollitt Construction Company in the amount of $32,433.26. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the payment request was approved. COUNCILMAN TERRY MILLER PRESENTS PETITION RE: ALLEY, 34TH AND 35THi STREETS Councilman Terry Miller was present and submitted to the Board a letter and a petition signed by residents of 34th and 35th Streets. These residents had their alley blacktopped and the letter noted that on March 29, 1974, the Street Department came through and graded the alley. The residents feel that the Street Department should blacktop the alley since this was their mistake. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the letter and petition were referred to the Bureau of Streets for appropriate action and a report to the Board. VANDALISM IN O'BRIEN PARK Mr. Seitz noted that a light pole has been cut down in O'Brien Park. He said this is most discouraging when the Park Department is trying to upgrade the lighting in City Parks. Such vandalism has cost the City approximately $20,000 in the past three or four -onths. He said the Police Department is cooperating in this matter but it is impossible for them to patrol all Park Department facilities. Mr. Barcome noted that this situation is especially serious since the I & M has notified the City that it will be two and a half years before new poles can be obtained. There bei seconded 1
