32 REGULAR MEETING MARCH 4, 1974 Notice of this Resolution shall be published on the 8th and 15th day of March, 1974 in the South Bend Tribune and in the Tri-County News. This Board, at its office, on the 1st day of April, 1974 at 9:30 o'clock A.M. will hear and receive remonstrances from all persons interested in or affected by these proceedings. Barcome ATTEST: s/ Patricia DeClercq, Clerk RECOMMENDATION FROM BUREAU OF ENGINEERING RE: PETITION OF CHARLES BURKHART TO VACATE ALLEY NORTH OF MISHAWAKA AVENUE The Board received a recommendation from the Bureau of Engineering that they have reviewed the petition of Charles Burkhart to vacate.the alley.north of Mishawaka Avenue between Emerson Avenue and the Grank Trunk Western Railroad and have no objection to the vacation. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the recommendation was ordered filed and the petition was referred to the Area Plan Commission for their investigation and recommendation. LETTER FROM CHARLES.HOWELL RE: 917 N. HILL STREET Mr. Charles Howell wrote to the Board regarding his recent purchase of 917 N. Hill Street from the City of South Bend. Mr. Howell's letter was read. Mr. Howell was present and explained to the Board that he bid on and thought he had purchased this entire lot but has now discovered that the purchase is only for the back part of the lot on the alley and HUD has said he cannot build on that portion of the lot. Mr. Howell said he has obtained the name of the owner of the front portion of the lot and is negotiating for the purchase of that part. He will also have to demolish an existing house on the lot. He asked the Board to consider giving him some kind of rebate since he paid $1315 for just a portion of the lot. Mr. Barcome made a motion that this matter be referred to the City Attorney's Office for review and a recommendation as to what action should be taken. APPROVAL OF ST. JOSEPH RIVER RUN The Board received a report from Clem A. Hazinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, that he has reviewed the request of the Michiana Watershed, Inc. to hold their 4th Annual St. Joseph River Run on Saturday, May 11, 1974. Mr. Hazinski noted that this affair has been held in the past with no problems, and he recommended approval. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the Annual River Run. RATE INCREASE FILED - SOUTH BEND PARKING COMPANY The Board received a notice from the South Bend Parking Company, Inc. that they are making a rate change at their lot at 225 West Washington Street, Lot #23. The new rate schedule will be as follows: Up to one hour 50� Two Hours 75t Maximum -All Day 1.00 Evening Rate (After 5:30 p.m.) 5U Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the notice was ordered filed.
