4 41) <br />REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 11, 1976 <br />FILING OF PETITION TO VACATE A PORTION OF VINE STREET AND TWO ALLEYS <br />The Trustees of Indiana University by their Attorney Philip Carlton <br />Potts file a petition to vacate,a portion of Vine Street and two <br />alleys. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and <br />carried, the petition was filed and referred to the Bureau of Design <br />and Administration for review and recommendation. <br />DISPOSAL OF OBSOLETE ENGINE APPROVED <br />The Board received a request from James Meehan, Manager of the Bureau <br />of Vehicle Maintenance, to declare a Wisconsin Engine #V114D, previously <br />belonging to the Fire Department, obsolete and authorize disposal. <br />Mr. Meehan said attempts have been made to nodify this engine for <br />further use but they have been unsuccessful. Upon motion made by <br />Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board approved <br />the request.to declare the equipment obsolete and authorize its <br />disposal. <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES APPROVED <br />Ralph S. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />recommended to the Board the installation of the following traffic <br />control devices: <br />A. Stop Sign on Stanfield at Corby <br />B. `.field Sign on Elwood at Sheridan revised to Stop Sign <br />C. Stop Sign on Maplewood at Elwood <br />D. Stop Sign on Woodbine at Elwood <br />E. Stop Sign on Cove at Elwood <br />F. Renoval_-of Yield Sign on Canterbury at Elwood <br />Upon notion r_iade by 11r. Farrand, seconded b17 Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the recommendation was approved. <br />RIVED. BEND PLAZA REQUEST APPROVED <br />Ronald Bock, Director of River Bend Plaza, submitted to the Board <br />the application of the Alpha Ortega Chapter of Beta Chi Sorority <br />to sell pumpkins on River Bend Plaza on October 14 and 15 with the <br />proceeds to go to the Northern Indiana Children's Hospital. Mr. <br />Bock recommended the application favorably. Upon motion made by <br />Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board approved <br />the application. <br />APPROVAL FOR DISPOSAL OF TELETYPEWRITER <br />The Board received a request from John V. Hunt, Bureau of Communica- <br />tions, for disposition of an obsolete teletypewriter formerly a <br />component of the gasoline dispensing and recording system. The <br />unit has been in storage. Mr. Hunt said he received one bid of <br />$50.00 for the unit and one proposal to make some battery <br />modifications in the amount of $87.50 in exchange for the tele- <br />typewriter. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. <br />Mullen and carried, the Board approved the request for disposal <br />of the teletypewriter and directed Mr. Hunt to proceed with the <br />battery modification and, in exchange for this work, to turn the <br />teletypewriter over to Larry Weaver, who submitted the proposal. <br />BONDS RELEASED <br />Ray S. Andrysiak,,Bureau of Engineering, reported to the Board <br />that requests for release of Contractor's Bonds for Basic Machine <br />Products and Janes Kambol were received. A review of the bonds <br />indicates no outstanding permits or clains,and Mr. Andrysiak <br />recommended release. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by <br />Mr. Mullen and carried, the bonds were released effective October <br />11, 1976. <br />
