REGULAR MEETING
AUGUST 23, 1976
i]
PETITION FILED - INCOMPLETE ROAD AND DEBRIS ON YORK ROAD
The Board received a petition from. residents of the 5300 block
York Road calling to their attention a portion of uncompleted roadway
on York Road in the 5700 block and much.debris in the area. The
petition indicated that a car recently drove off the road in this
area causing much damage to the vehicle. George Milovich was present
and said that Jack Hickey and Portage Realty are to complete the road
and he asked the Board to see that this is done and that the tree
limbs and debris are removed immediately. He'said it was his under-
standing that the dedication of the roadway was accepted on July 20.
Walter Milovich was present and asked the Board to see that large tree
limbs and debris, placed in the area by the developer, are removed.
Mr. Farrand said the City is aware of the problem and is attempting
to get the contractor to complete the road as soon as possible. He
said the City will not accept the street until it has been completed
and inspected. He said action could be taken immediately to have
signs posted and to have the debris removed. Mr. Brunner suggested
that barricades or a chain be placed where the street ends to
eliminate the risk of cars driving in that area. Mr, Farrand made
a motion that the petition be filed and referred.to the Bureau of
Engineering for review, the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for the
posting of necessary signs and/or barricades and to the Environmental
Protection Office for immediate action to have the owner remove the
debris. Mr. Brunner seconded the motion and it carried.
There being no further business to come before the Board, upon
motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried,
the meeting adjourned at,10:25 a.m.
ATTEST:
Patricia DeClercq, Clerk
