REGULAR MEETING MAY 17, 1976 WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works has.,reviewed said inventory of real property and it now finds that certain of the parcels of real estate now owned by the City are not necessary to the public use and are not set aside by state or city law for public purposes pursuant to Section 30 A-2 of the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend; and WHEREAS,the Board of Public Works now wishes to take the necessary action to make it possible for the Board, in the future, to sell said parcels of real estate pursuant to Chapper 30A of the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: 1. That the parcels of real estate owned by the City contained in the following list are not necessary to the public use and are not set aside by state or city law for public purposes. That this resolution shall immediately upon its adoption be submitted to the Common Council of the City of South Bend, pursuant to Section 30 A-2 of the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend. Mullen ATTEST: s/ Patricia DeClercq, Clerk RESOLUTION NO. 16 ADOPTED Mr. Farrand advised the Board that two city -owned properties have been declared by resolution to be not needed by the City, with the concurrence of the Common Council. Appraisals were ordered and offering prices set. The offering price on each property is less than $1000 and would allow the Board to enter into a private sale of the property. However, in each case, more than one person has expressed an interest in purchasing the lot. A resolution was prepared which will allow the Board to advertise for sealed bids for the sale of the properties at not less than the offering price. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the following resolution was adopted: RESOLUTION N0. 16, 1976 WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend has caused certain parcels of real estate not necessary to the public use to be appraised by two licensed independent appraisers who are freeholders in the City of*South Bend, Indiana; and WHEREAS, the Board has now received such appraisals and now, pursuant to Chapter 30 A of the Municipal Code of the City of South Bend, Indiana, desires to establish the valuation of said parcels for the purpose of sale; and 1
