REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 22, 1976 <br />BID AWARDED - HOT MIX TRAIL R;�BUREAU OF STREETS <br />The Board received a recommendation from John Baumgartner, <br />Assistant Street Superintendent, that the bid of Seastrom, Inc. <br />for a portable asphalt storage unit had been reviewed and <br />could be•accepted. Mr. Baumgartner was present and indicated <br />to the Board that this was the only bid received and was, in his <br />opinion,a good bid. Mr. Farrand made a motion; based on the <br />recommendation of Mr. Baumgartner, that the Board accept the <br />low and only bid of Seastrom, Inc. of $7,784.:00 for a portable <br />asphalt storage unit, subject to approval of the funding. Tyr. <br />Brunner seconded the motion and it was carried. <br />FILING OF LETTER RE: AIRPORT INDUSTRIAL PARK PHASE IV <br />The following letter was received: <br />Mr. Howard D. Bessire Re: <br />Executive Director <br />Industrial Foundation Inc. of Sout <br />320 West Jefferson Boulevard <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Mr. Bessire, <br />h <br />March 17,-1976 <br />Airport Industrial Park <br />Phase IV <br />Bend <br />We have reviewed the tabulation of bids received and <br />additional documentation submitted by your engineer, <br />Clyde E. Williams and Associates, for the referenced <br />project and concur with the recommended award as follows. <br />Air Industrial Park, Phase IV <br />Divisions "C" and "D" <br />Base Bid, no Deductive Alternates, <br />in the amount of $1,403,666.75 <br />EDA participation is limited to fifty (50%) per cent of the <br />original estimated project cost or a grant not to exceed <br />$1,004,000. <br />Please notify the successful bidder of the award in writing <br />and furnish this office a copy of Notice of Award. <br />Ritschard Bros, Inc., indicated in the Standard <br />Questionnaire their intent to sub -contract approximately <br />$950,000 of the contract work. Inform the successful <br />bidder that prior to entering into any sub -contract, the <br />names of the proposed sub -contractors must be submitted to <br />you for submittal to EDA for approval. <br />Specific Requirements for Sub -Contractors are outlined on <br />Page 43 and 44, Section III, of the Requirements for <br />Approved Projects, Sixth Edition, August 1974. <br />As soon as the contract -documents have been completed, <br />please sent one (1) set only of bound executed contract <br />documents in accordance with the instructions' on Page <br />32, Section II, of the requirements for Approved Projects, <br />Sixth Edition, August 1974. <br />Respectfully, <br />William D.
