REGULAR MEETI14G
MARCH 8, 1976
POLICY FOR CITY CEMETERY SATUEDAY BURIALS
The Board had under advisement a request to change the policy of
City Cemetery to allow no burials on Saturday'. The Board remembers
reviewed the request and it was the consensus of opinion that no
change in present policy should be made. Mr. Mullen said he did not
feel the fiscal problem of paying overtim for Saturday burials was
critical and he said unless funerals could be held on Saturday, it
might not be possible for relatives from out-of-town to arrange
to attend. Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Farrand
and carried, the Board established that the existing policy will
remain in effect and 'there will be Saturday burials at City Cemetery.
DISCUSSION '- AMBULANCE BIDS
There was a discussion regarding the ambulance bids. Mr. Robert
Bender and Mr. J. R.. Dickman of Indiana Safety, Inc. advised the
Board that they felt the specifications were very restrictive and
allowed only one company to bid because the specifications were for
an aluminum ambulance. Mr. Dickman said Indiana Safety did bid but
had to take exception to the specifications for the roof and bid
a fibreglass roof. Mr. Farrand said the specifications were restrictive
be intent but he said they had felt there were at least two companies
who could bid according to the specifications. Mr. Jack Trusty
of the Butler Coach Company said there was more than one company who
could bid to the specifications and he named Yankee, Able, R & R
and Gremlin as examples. He said all materials listed in the
specifications are available to any bidder. Mr. Farrand thanked
the bidders for their comments and said they have been noted and will
be forwarded to the Fire Department for their consideration.
There being no further business to come before the Board, upon motion
made.by Mr.'Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the
meeting adjourned at 10:50 a.m.
'RollinE. Farrand
ATTEST:
k ('
Patricia DeClercq, Clerk
