Snider is requesting <br />permission to sell two obsolete GaLiewell Plaster Fire Alarm Boxes, <br />which were part of the old alarm system before the City went to the <br />Indiana Bell Telephone System. An offer has been received to purchase <br />the two boxes for $200 each, or a total of $400. Mr. Farrand said <br />property valued at less than $500 may be sold at private sale upon <br />resolution of the Board of Public Works, signed by the Mayor. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the Board approved the request and the Clerk is directed to prepare <br />a resolution for signature by the Board and the Mayor authorizing <br />the sale. <br />PUBLIC HEAPING TABLED -.DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOPMENT VACATION PETITION <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3 19 <br />The vacation petition of the Department of Redevelopment, Vacation <br />Resolution No. 3419, for the vacation of all streets, alleys and <br />lots not previously vacated in the proposed replat of River Bend <br />Addition to the City of South Bend, was continued until this date. <br />Kevin Butler, Attorney for the Department of Redevelopment, was present <br />and advised the Board that one of the properties involved, Royal Inn, <br />is now in receivership. It is necessary to have documents signed by <br />the property owners .before proceeding with the vacation. Mr. Butler <br />said a court in California has declared.the title to the property <br />should be given to Royal Inns of America and not Royal Inn of South <br />Bend. Mr. Butler said no further action should be taken until final <br />disposition of the matter of title to the property by the courts. <br />Mr. Butler apologized to the Board for the delays in this matter <br />and thanked them for their patience. He said the Department of <br />Redevelopment would like the matter tabled until they have secured <br />proper signatures from all property owners involved in the vacation. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and <br />carried,. the Department of Redevelopment Vacation Resolution No. <br />3419 hearing is tabled until such time as the Department requests <br />that it come before the Board again. <br />
