REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 23, 1976
Mr. Mullen asked if the sale of the _property to Southold would
put the property back on -the tax rolls. There was some discussion
as to the proposed use of the property and it was indicated that
plans were to move a house onto the lot to be restored and either
sold or rented. Upon motion made by Mr. Brunner, seconded by
Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board tabled the agreements and
requested that Southold be asked to send a representative to
the meeting on March 1, 1976 to advise the Board of plans for
the property or to direct a letter to the Board giving that
information.
REVISED ASSESSMENT ROLL APPROVED - WIDENER LANE SANITARY SEWERS
The following letter was received by the Board:
"Gentlemen:
Please find attached a revised Assessment Roll
for the Fellows Street -Widener Lane Sanitary Sewers
The revisions are shown underlined in red on Sheet
2.of 3 and Sheet 3 of 3. These changes were necessitated
because, in the case of Lot A, Widener Lane was located
further north than indicated on our plats; and in the
case of Lot 21 and 22, the areas were calculated from
a metes and bounds description which varied from the
subsequent recorded Widener Addition.dimensions.
I am respectfully requesting that the revised
Assessment Roll be approved.
s.7
s/ Ray S. Andrysiak
Bureau of Engineering
David Wells, Manager of the Bureau of Design and Administration,
explained to the Board that this revision does not change the total
figures on the Assessment Poll, but merely changes the assessment
of property belonging to one owner, so that each assessment is correct
for the size of the lot and so that the taps are placed so there is
no question that the tap charge has been paid. Mr. Farrand made
a motion that the recommendation of Mr. Andrysiak be approved and
the revised Assessment Poll accepted. The motion was seconded by
Mr. Brunner and was carried.
REQUEST FOR SUPERVISED RECREATIO14AL FACILITIES RECEIVED
Mrs. Herman Lighthall, 1428 E. Howard, was present and asked the
Board to give consideration to providing some kind of supervised
recreational facilities for young people in the area east of the
South Bend Avenue -Eddy Street area. Mrs. Lighthall said she operates
a business at 1132 South Bend Avenue and does not like to chase the
young people from in -front of her business, but she said she
realizes there is no place for the young people to go where there
are supervised recreational facilities. Mr. Farrand said the the
request has been noted and will be referred to the Park Department
for any consideration. Councilman Parent is also to be advised of
the request.
There being no further business to come before the Board, upon motion
made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the meeting
adjourned at 10:01 a.m.
