REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 5, 1976 <br />FILING OF ASSESSMENT ROLL - FELLOWS -WIDENER LANE SANITARY SEWERS <br />The Assessment Roll showing the final assessment for the Fellows <br />Street -Widener Lane Sanitary Sewer Project, authorized under <br />Improvement Resolution No. 3406, 1974, was filed with the Board. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the Board adopted the Assessment Roll and set Monday, <br />January 19, 1976 at 9:30 a.m. in the Board of Public Works <br />Hearing Room as the time and place for holding a public hearing <br />on the Assessment Roll. <br />NO PARKING ON WEST SIDE OF 20TH STREET APPROVED <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting submitted a recommendation to <br />the Board that No Parking signs be installed on the west side of <br />20th Street from Northside Boulevard to Mishawaka Avenue. Mr. <br />Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, was <br />present and informed the Board that the homes on that side of <br />20th Street, with the exception of one, are owned by Indiana <br />University at South Bend and are used by them for general office <br />purposes. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner <br />and carried, the Board approved the recommendation to install <br />the No Parking signs. <br />NOTICE OF EFFECTIVE DATE OF ANNEXATION ORDINANCE NO. 5128 <br />The Board received notification from Robert M. Parker, Chief <br />Deputy City Attorney, that Annexation Ordinance No. 5128 covering <br />the Gertrude Street -Linden Road annexation area, becomes effective <br />January 2, 1976, and the area should be given city services. <br />It was noted that the City has received complaints in the past <br />regarding an auto salvage operation in that area, with unsightly <br />dumping of abandoned vehicles and scrap parts. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board <br />filed the notice and directed that the Board of Public Safety be <br />requested to have an immediate investigation of the area made by <br />the Environmental Protection Office, with a report to be made <br />to the Board in two weeks. <br />BONDS APPROVED <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, reported to the Board <br />that the following bonds were properly executed and could be <br />approved: <br />Contractor's - Nick T. Prymak to 12/31/76 <br />Contractor's - Edward C. Hermann to 1/1/77 <br />Contractor's - Dye Plumbing & Heating, Inc. to'l/l/77 <br />Excavation - Dye Plumbing & Heating, Inc. to 1/1/77 <br />Excavation - H. S. Altman Company to l/1/77 <br />Excavation - Edward J. White, Inc. to 12/31/76 <br />Contractor's - Woodcox Building to 12/31/76 <br />Upon motion made,by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and <br />carried, the bonds were approved toithe dates listed. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period of December 19 <br />through 26 was received. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded <br />by Mr. Brunner and carried, the report was ordered filed. <br />FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE <br />A Certificate of Insurance from E-Rect-0, Inc. was submitted to <br />the Board. The Certificate was reviewed by Deputy City Attorney <br />Kathleen Cekanski and she recommended that it be filed by the <br />Board. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner <br />and carried, the certificate was ordered filed. <br />J <br />
