REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 5, 1976 FILING OF ASSESSMENT ROLL - FELLOWS -WIDENER LANE SANITARY SEWERS The Assessment Roll showing the final assessment for the Fellows Street -Widener Lane Sanitary Sewer Project, authorized under Improvement Resolution No. 3406, 1974, was filed with the Board. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board adopted the Assessment Roll and set Monday, January 19, 1976 at 9:30 a.m. in the Board of Public Works Hearing Room as the time and place for holding a public hearing on the Assessment Roll. NO PARKING ON WEST SIDE OF 20TH STREET APPROVED The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting submitted a recommendation to the Board that No Parking signs be installed on the west side of 20th Street from Northside Boulevard to Mishawaka Avenue. Mr. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, was present and informed the Board that the homes on that side of 20th Street, with the exception of one, are owned by Indiana University at South Bend and are used by them for general office purposes. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved the recommendation to install the No Parking signs. NOTICE OF EFFECTIVE DATE OF ANNEXATION ORDINANCE NO. 5128 The Board received notification from Robert M. Parker, Chief Deputy City Attorney, that Annexation Ordinance No. 5128 covering the Gertrude Street -Linden Road annexation area, becomes effective January 2, 1976, and the area should be given city services. It was noted that the City has received complaints in the past regarding an auto salvage operation in that area, with unsightly dumping of abandoned vehicles and scrap parts. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board filed the notice and directed that the Board of Public Safety be requested to have an immediate investigation of the area made by the Environmental Protection Office, with a report to be made to the Board in two weeks. BONDS APPROVED Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, reported to the Board that the following bonds were properly executed and could be approved: Contractor's - Nick T. Prymak to 12/31/76 Contractor's - Edward C. Hermann to 1/1/77 Contractor's - Dye Plumbing & Heating, Inc. to'l/l/77 Excavation - Dye Plumbing & Heating, Inc. to 1/1/77 Excavation - H. S. Altman Company to l/1/77 Excavation - Edward J. White, Inc. to 12/31/76 Contractor's - Woodcox Building to 12/31/76 Upon motion made,by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the bonds were approved toithe dates listed. STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED The Street Light Outage Report for the period of December 19 through 26 was received. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the report was ordered filed. FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE A Certificate of Insurance from E-Rect-0, Inc. was submitted to the Board. The Certificate was reviewed by Deputy City Attorney Kathleen Cekanski and she recommended that it be filed by the Board. Upon motion made by Mr. Farrand, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the certificate was ordered filed. J
