This notification is in answer to a request from the
Board of Public Works on June 26, 1975 to complete the rerouting of
State Route 2. The notification from the State follows the guidelines
as set out in the agreement between the Indiana State Highway Commission
and the City of South Bend, effective December 16, 1970 whereas "SR 2
(Western Avenue) traffic will be rerouted from the intersection of
Western Avenue and Chapin Street south on Chapin Street to the intersection
of Chapin Street andSample Street (SR 23), then east on Sample Street
to Michigan Street (US 31 and US 33).
