REGULAR MEETING
<br />NOVEMBER 24, 1975
<br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at
<br />9:30 a.m, on Monday, November 24, 1975 by Chairman Rollin Farrand,
<br />with Mr. Farrand and Mr. Seitz in attendance. Deputy City Attorney
<br />Kathleen Cekanski was also present. Minutes of the previous meeting
<br />were reviewed and approved.
<br />OPENING OF BIDS - POLICE DEPARTMENT UNIFORMS
<br />This was the date set for receiving bids for uniforms for the
<br />Police Department for 1976. The Clerk tendered proofs of.publication
<br />of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which
<br />were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and
<br />publicly read:.
<br />Gerber Manufacturing Company Bid was signed by Terry Gerber,
<br />non -collusion affidavit was in
<br />order and a bid bond was submitted.
<br />It was noted that the amount on the bid bond was blank. A representative
<br />of Gerber Manufacturing Company, Mary Helen Ewaszka, was present and
<br />said the bond was in the amount of 10%, or $70,000.
<br />She said since
<br />the bid listed unit prices, it.was not possible
<br />to indicate the
<br />exact total amount of the bid. Deputy City Attorney
<br />Kathleen Cekanski
<br />indicated that, on'the basis of Miss Ewaszka's
<br />comment, the bidlbond
