REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 10, 1975 WHEREAS, the costs for these improvements are to be pro -rated between the Local Road and Street Funds and the Cumulative Capital Improvement Funds, and WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works has the authority to make such improvements as provided by the Acts of, the General Assembly (I._C. 18-1-6--15 and others) BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Public Works finds it necessary for the public health, safety and welfare that Donmoyer Street be widened and improved from Main Street to Michigan Avenue, and that said Board hereby orders that the necessary design plans be prepared, that easements and right-of-ways be acquired by gift, purchase or con- demnation, that appropriations be sought, that bids be taken for construction, that contracts be entered into, and that said construction shall take place. REQUEST FOR TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ALLEYS The Board received a request from James Conboy of Landmark of Indiana for the temporary closing for five weeks of the following alleys: the east -west alley running one-half block -from Michigan Street West, between Marion Street and Navarre Street and the north -south alley running one-half block from Marion Street North, between Michigan Street and Main Street. Mr. Conboy indicated that the north -south alley would be opened during the evening hours and could be cleared during working hours in the event of an emergency. The closing.is requested during construction of an office facility. The Board noted that there might be problems involved with the closing of the north -south alley since it is used by the business places which face on Michigan Street. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board referred the request to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for,review and recommendation. Mr. Conboy is to be asked to submit plans to Mr. Wadzinski as soon as possible and Mr. Wadzinski is to be asked to give special attention to the possible problems which might result from the closing of the north -south alley. SIGNING OF CONTRACT - CREST IIANOR SEWER The Construction Contract with Woodruff and Sons for the construction of the Crest Manor I and II sanitary sewers was submitted to the Board, along with the performance bond. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board approved the contract and the Performance Bond. BID AWARDED - RANDOLPH STREET RETENTION BASIN The Bureau of Design and Administration reported to the Board that the bids for the Randolph Street Retention Basin had been reviewed and they recommended that the low bid of Ritschard Brothers, Inc. be accepted. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board accepted the low bid of Ritschard Brothers, Inc. of $89,664.00 for the construction of the Randolph Street Retention Basin. n U
