REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 10, 1975 <br />WHEREAS, the costs for these improvements are to be pro -rated <br />between the Local Road and Street Funds and the Cumulative <br />Capital Improvement Funds, and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works has the authority to make <br />such improvements as provided by the Acts of, the <br />General Assembly (I._C. 18-1-6--15 and others) <br />BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Public Works finds it necessary <br />for the public health, safety and welfare that Donmoyer <br />Street be widened and improved from Main Street to <br />Michigan Avenue, and that said Board hereby orders that <br />the necessary design plans be prepared, that easements <br />and right-of-ways be acquired by gift, purchase or con- <br />demnation, that appropriations be sought, that bids be <br />taken for construction, that contracts be entered into, <br />and that said construction shall take place. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/ Rollin E. Barcome <br />ATTEST: <br />s/ Patricia DeClercq, Clerk <br />Adopted this loth day of November, 1975. <br />REQUEST FOR TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ALLEYS <br />The Board received a request from James Conboy of Landmark of <br />Indiana for the temporary closing for five weeks of the following <br />alleys: the east -west alley running one-half block -from Michigan <br />Street West, between Marion Street and Navarre Street and the <br />north -south alley running one-half block from Marion Street North, <br />between Michigan Street and Main Street. Mr. Conboy indicated that <br />the north -south alley would be opened during the evening hours and <br />could be cleared during working hours in the event of an emergency. <br />The closing.is requested during construction of an office facility. <br />The Board noted that there might be problems involved with the <br />closing of the north -south alley since it is used by the business <br />places which face on Michigan Street. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the Board referred the request to the Bureau of Traffic <br />and Lighting for,review and recommendation. Mr. Conboy is to be <br />asked to submit plans to Mr. Wadzinski as soon as possible and Mr. <br />Wadzinski is to be asked to give special attention to the possible <br />problems which might result from the closing of the north -south alley. <br />SIGNING OF CONTRACT - CREST IIANOR SEWER <br />The Construction Contract with Woodruff and Sons for the construction <br />of the Crest Manor I and II sanitary sewers was submitted to the <br />Board, along with the performance bond. Upon motion made, seconded <br />and carried, the Board approved the contract and the Performance Bond. <br />BID AWARDED - RANDOLPH STREET RETENTION BASIN <br />The Bureau of Design and Administration reported to the Board that <br />the bids for the Randolph Street Retention Basin had been reviewed <br />and they recommended that the low bid of Ritschard Brothers, Inc. be <br />accepted. Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Board accepted <br />the low bid of Ritschard Brothers, Inc. of $89,664.00 for the <br />construction of the Randolph Street Retention Basin. <br />n <br />U <br />
