FE <br />REGULAR MEETING JULY 21, 1975 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:30 a.m. on Monday, July 21,.1975 with all members present. <br />Deputy City Attorney Kathleen Cekanski was also present. Minutes. <br />of the previous meeting were reviewed and approved. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - CENTURY CENTER FOUNDATION WORK <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for the Century Center <br />Foundation work. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice <br />in the South Bend Tribune and in the Tri-County News which were found <br />to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />Carl J. Reinke & Sons, Inc. Bid was signed by Harold G. Reinke, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in <br />order and a 5% bid bond accompanited <br />the bid. <br />Bid - $282,501.00 Alternate A deduct $96,011.00 <br />Alternate B deduct $28,039.00 <br />Alternate C deduct $13,982.00 <br />Alternate D deduct $51,370.00 <br />Schumacher -Sons, Inc. Bid was signed by John P. Schumacher, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 5% bid bond accompanied the bid. <br />J� <br />e—{ Bid - $315,021.00 Alternate A deduct $48,077.00 <br />Alternate B deduct $24,424.00 <br />Alternate C deduct $25,256.00 <br />Alternate D deduct $37,383.00 <br />H. Bid was signed by Harlan A. Rusk, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 5% bid bond accompanied the bid. <br />Bid - $258,350.00 Alternate A deduct $94,046.00 <br />Alternate B deduct $31,027.00 <br />Alternate C deduct $15,030.00 <br />Alternate D deduct $57,596.00 <br />The Hickey Company, Inc. Bid was signed by G. A. Hickey, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 5% bid bond accompanied the bid. <br />Bid - $297,445.00 Alternate A deduct $93,000.00 <br />Alternate B deduct $30,000.00 <br />Alternate C deduct $12,000.00 <br />Alternate D deduct $64,000.00 <br />Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the bids were referred to <br />the Bureau of Public Construction for review and recommendation. <br />FILING OF ASSESSMENT ROLL - VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3416 <br />Rollin E. Farrand, P. E., City Engineer, files with the Board an <br />Assessment Roll for Vacation Resolution No. 3416, 1975 for the <br />vacation of the south half of the first north -south alley east of <br />Walnut Street, running from Western Avenue north to the first east - <br />west alley. The alley being petitioned for vacation is also adjacent <br />to and between Lots 73 and 74 in.the Commissioner's Sub. of Bank Out <br />Lots 85 and 86.
