426 <br />REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 27, 1977 <br />PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT APPROVED - WESTERN AVENUE VIADUCT LIGHTING <br />The Project Completion Affidavit for the Western Avenue -Walnut Street <br />Underpass Lighting Project was submitted to the Board, recommended for approval <br />by Patrick M. McMahon, Director of Public Works, and Ralph J. Wadzinski, <br />Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting. The contractor was Arrow Electric <br />Company, Inc. and the total cost of the project was $5,654.20. Mr. McMahon <br />reported that the project is completed and the lighting is in operation. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the <br />Project Completion Affidavit was approved subject to the filing of the <br />required Maintenance Bond. <br />REPORT FROM AREA PLAN COMMISSION: PETITION TO VACATE EAST -WEST ALLEY BETWEEN <br />CALVERT AND DELAWARE STREETS. <br />The Area Plan Commission reported to the Board that they held a public hearing <br />on the petition of Mr. & Mrs. Anthony Boros to vacate the east -west alley <br />running west from Carlisle Street to the north -south alley between Calvert <br />and Delaware Street and being between Lots 216 and 217 in Highland Park <br />Subdivision. It was noted that the Mutual Commercial Company, owners of <br />Lots 228 and 229 of Highland Park Subdivision, advised the Plan Commission <br />that they will join in the petition to vacate that portion of the alley <br />which runs between those two lots. The petition was amended to include the <br />vacation of the entire East-West alley from Carlisle Street to Phillipa Street, <br />between Calvert and Delaware Street. The Area Plan Commission recommended <br />the amended petition favorably to the Board of Public Works. Upon motion made <br />by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the recommendation was <br />filed and the amended petition was referred to the Division of Engineering <br />for preparation of the Vacation Resolution. <br />BOND RELEASED - HERSCHEL WILLIS <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering,,reported to the Board that he had <br />reviewed the request of the surety company to release the Contractor's Bond <br />of Herschel Willis. There are no outstanding permits against this contractor <br />and Mr. Andrysiak recommended release of the bond. Upon motion made by <br />Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the bond was released, <br />effective January 1, 1978. <br />APPROVAL OF CLAIMS <br />Michael L. Vance, Deputy City Controller, submitted to the Board Claim Docket <br />Numbers 22771 to 23583 and recommended their approval. Upon moton made by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board approved Claim Docket <br />Numbers 22711 to 23583 and directed that checks for payment be issued. <br />STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT FILED <br />The Street Light Outage Report for the period December 19 through 23 was <br />received. The report indicated 24 outages. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the report was ordered filed. <br />There being <br />Mr. McMahon, <br />9:40 a.m. <br />no further business to come before the Board, upon motion made by <br />seonded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the meeting adjourned at <br />ATT T: <br />G IC & <br />Patricia DeClercq, Cl( <br />
