402 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 21, 1977 <br />CONTRACT FOR RELOCATION SERVICES REFERRED TO LEGAL DEPARTMENT <br />A contract between Bonita Bingham of the Department of Redevelopment <br />and the Board of Public Works for relocation services to be provided <br />in connection with the Orange -Colfax connector was submitted to the <br />Board. Mr. McMahon noted that he would recommend striking from the <br />contractthe paragraph providing for compensation for the services <br />since the Board would not approve compensation for an employee of <br />the Redevelopment Department for performing such services on City <br />time. Mr. Brunner said the contract had not been reviewed by the <br />City Attorney's office and he recommended that it be referred. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the contract was referred to the Legal Department for review and <br />recommendation. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 17 ADOPTED - STREET IMPROVEMENTS, WESTERN AND CHAPIN <br />A resolution was submitted to the Board in reference to the Western - <br />Chapin intersection. David A. Wells, Manager of the Bureau of Design <br />and Administration, advised the Board that the resolution was in <br />connection with street improvements on Western Avenue and this <br />resolution involves one corner of the Western and Chapin intersection. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the following resolution was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 17, 1977 <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works has found it necessary in the <br />best interest of the public safety and welfare to construct <br />certain street improvements at the Western'Avenue-Chapin <br />Street intersection, and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works has the authority to make such <br />improvements as provided by the Acts of the General <br />Assembly, <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: <br />1. That the Board of Works orders the Department of <br />Public Works to prepare plans, specifications, cost <br />estimates, secure the necessary right-of-way and <br />easements, by the doing of all acts necessary and <br />desirable to the acquisition by gift, purchase or <br />condemnation; <br />2.
