REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 7, 1977 <br />Mr. McMahon noted that the Board held.a,public hearing on the <br />Improvement Resolution and a number of property owners remonstrated. <br />More than fifty-one per cent of the property owners on the assessment <br />roll voted against the project. Two of the property owners who <br />voted for the project would now like a portion of the project to <br />proceed to provide sewers for them. Mr. Wells advised the Board <br />that the project can be reduced in size to serve these two property <br />owners. The other property owner interested in the project is on <br />the other side of the project area. Hickey Associates is building <br />a house in that area and a private sewer will be constructed which <br />can serve this property owner. Mr. Wells noted that the amended <br />project area will include 150 feet of Abshire Drive and will serve <br />Abshire and Berkshire Drive. Mr. McMahon made a motion that the <br />Improvement Resolution be amended to reduce the scope of the project <br />as outlined by Mr. Wells and recommended by the Bureau of Design <br />and Administration. Mr, Mullen seconded the motion and it carried. <br />Mr. McMahon made a motion that the Board file the preliminary plans <br />and sign the title sheet approving the plans and authorize advertising <br />for bids for construction. Mr. Mullen seconded the motion and it <br />carried. <br />CONTRACT APPROVED - KITCHEN EQUIPMENT FOR CENTURY CENTER <br />The contract with Ruslander & Sons, Inc. for kitchen equipment for <br />Century Center was submitted to the Board executed by officials of <br />Ruslander. The Board has already taken action to accept the low <br />bid of Ruslander in the amount of $175,554.00. Upon motion made <br />by Mr. McMahon, seconded by. Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved <br />the contract. <br />FILING OF MAINTENANCE BOND - TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT BROADMOOR SHOPPING <br />CENTER, IRELAND ROAD <br />Mr. McMahon reported to the Board that the City had requested that <br />Broadmoor Shopping Center install a traffic signal at their <br />entrance on Ireland Road across from the signal presently serving <br />Scottsdale Mall. The signal has not been installed as yet but there <br />has been a rezoning of property and one of the requirements of that <br />action was that a Maintenance Bond be filed with the Board -pending <br />installation of the signal. The bond was submitted to the Board by <br />the Oxford Development Corporation in the amount of $17,500. Mr. <br />McMahon made a motion that the Maintenance Bond be accepted and <br />filed. Mr. Brunner seconded the motion and it carried. <br />PURCHASE AGREEMENT APPROVED - SALE OF 412 E. OHIO STREET <br />Following all procedures required by Ordinance for the sale of <br />city -owned real estate, a contract for the sale of the lot at 412 <br />E. Ohio Street was prepared by Deputy City Attorney Terry A. Crone <br />and submitted to Mr. & Mrs. Bennie Kirk. The agreement calls for <br />a total purchase price for the lot of $572.00. The Kirks have now <br />signed the contract and returned it to the Board. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the contract <br />was approved and the Legal Department was directed to prepare the <br />deed. <br />STREET LIGHT INSTALLATION APPROVED <br />The Board received a recommendation from the Bureau of Traffic and <br />Lighting for the installation of a traffic signal on Norwich Court <br />at a total cost per month of $8.29. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the installation was approved. <br />
