REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 17, 1977 PERFORMANCE BOND FILED - KRUEGER ING.., CENTURY CENTER ITEMS Krueger, Inc., successful bidder for stacking chairs, tables and dollies for Century Center, submitted 100% performance bonds and labor and material payments bonds covering the bid and requested the return of their certified check. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board filed the bonds and directed that the certified check be returned. TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES APPROVED The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting recommended to the Board the following traffic control installations: A. Installation of .15 minute parking, 6 A.M. to 6 P.M., 74' on west side of 700 block North Brookfield, 110' on east side of 700 block North Brookfield, both areas immediately north of Rupel Street. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the installation was approved. B. Installation, of 30 MPH'Speed Lincolnway West and Fassnacht made by Mr. McMahon, seconded installation was approved. Limit on Johnson Street, between four signs. Upon motion by Mr. Mullen and.carried, the FILING OF FIELD EXAMINER'S REPORT COUNTY AUDITOR'S OFFICE The Board received the Field Examiner's Report of their review of the County Auditor's Office and the County -City Building. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the report was filed. DATE FOR WALK FOR WORLD HUNGER.CHANGED The Notre Dame -St. Mary's Coalition for a Walk for World Hunger had scheduled a Walk for October 16 but advised the Board they were unable to coordinate all arrangements for that date. They have requested that the Board approve a change of date to April 2, 1977. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board gave tentative approval, subject to approval of the route by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police Department Traffic Detail. APPROVAL OF CLAIMS Michael L. Vance, Chief Deputy City Controller, submitted to the Board Claim Docket Numbers 17909 through 18225 and recommended that they be approved. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board approved the claims and directed that checks for payment be issued. REOUEST FOR ENFORCEMENT OF PARKING VIOLATIONS ON MAIN STREET The Board discussed the problem of traffic congestion occurring on the east side of South Main Street, between Wayne and Western Avenue, when cars are parked in violation of the "No Parking" restrictions posted for 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Mr. Mullen made a motion that the Police Department be asked to have the Traffic Detail issue tickets to all violators of the parking ban for a two week period and that the Board be advised at the end of that time the number of tickets issued. When that report has been received, further action will be considered. Mr. McMahon seconded the motion and it carried.
