REGULAR MEETING <br />OCTOBER 17, 1977 <br />PERFORMANCE BOND FILED - KRUEGER ING.., CENTURY CENTER ITEMS <br />Krueger, Inc., successful bidder for stacking chairs, tables and <br />dollies for Century Center, submitted 100% performance bonds <br />and labor and material payments bonds covering the bid and requested <br />the return of their certified check. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board filed the <br />bonds and directed that the certified check be returned. <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES APPROVED <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting recommended to the Board the <br />following traffic control installations: <br />A. Installation of .15 minute parking, 6 A.M. to 6 P.M., 74' on <br />west side of 700 block North Brookfield, 110' on east side <br />of 700 block North Brookfield, both areas immediately north <br />of Rupel Street. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr. Mullen and carried, the installation was approved. <br />B. Installation, of 30 MPH'Speed <br />Lincolnway West and Fassnacht <br />made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />installation was approved. <br />Limit on Johnson Street, between <br />four signs. Upon motion <br />by Mr. Mullen and.carried, the <br />FILING OF FIELD EXAMINER'S REPORT COUNTY AUDITOR'S OFFICE <br />The Board received the Field Examiner's Report of their review <br />of the County Auditor's Office and the County -City Building. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the report was filed. <br />DATE FOR WALK FOR WORLD HUNGER.CHANGED <br />The Notre Dame -St. Mary's Coalition for a Walk for World Hunger <br />had scheduled a Walk for October 16 but advised the Board they <br />were unable to coordinate all arrangements for that date. They <br />have requested that the Board approve a change of date to April 2, <br />1977. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen <br />and carried, the Board gave tentative approval, subject to approval <br />of the route by the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting and the Police <br />Department Traffic Detail. <br />APPROVAL OF CLAIMS <br />Michael L. Vance, Chief Deputy City Controller, submitted to the <br />Board Claim Docket Numbers 17909 through 18225 and recommended <br />that they be approved. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board approved the claims and <br />directed that checks for payment be issued. <br />REOUEST FOR ENFORCEMENT OF PARKING VIOLATIONS ON MAIN STREET <br />The Board discussed the problem of traffic congestion occurring <br />on the east side of South Main Street, between Wayne and Western <br />Avenue, when cars are parked in violation of the "No Parking" <br />restrictions posted for 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., <br />Monday through Friday. Mr. Mullen made a motion that the Police <br />Department be asked to have the Traffic Detail issue tickets to <br />all violators of the parking ban for a two week period and that <br />the Board be advised at the end of that time the number of tickets <br />issued. When that report has been received, further action will <br />be considered. Mr. McMahon seconded the motion and it carried. <br />
