297 <br />REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 15, 1977 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:30 a.m. on Monday, August 15, 1977 by President Patrick M. <br />McMahon, with Mr. McMahon and Mr. Brunner present. Deputy City <br />Attorney Terry A. 'Crone was also present. <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED <br />Mr. Brunner reported that he had reviewed the minutes of the <br />August 8, 1977 meeting of the Board and he made a motion that the <br />minutes be approved as submitted. Mr. McMahon seconded the motion <br />and it carried. <br />OPENING OF BIDS FOOD SERVICEEQUIPMENT FOR CENTURY CENTER <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for food service equipment <br />for Century Center. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of <br />notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were <br />found to be sufficient. Mr. McMahon noted that this was a joint <br />meeting of the Board and the Hotel -Motel Tax Board. Jerry Ujdak of <br />the Hotel -Motel Tax Board was pres.ent, as was Brian Hedman, Executive <br />Director of Century Center. The following bids were opened and <br />publicly read: <br />Atlas Restaurant Supply Company Bid was signed by Thomas S. Vavul, <br />South Bend, Indiana non -collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a certified check in the amount <br />of $20,862.30 was submitted. <br />Bid - $208,623.00 <br />General Store Fixture Company <br />Detroit, Michigan <br />Bid - $207,577.00 <br />Great Lakes Hotel Supply <br />Detroit, Michigan <br />Bid - $211,975.00 <br />Hoosier China & Equipment Co. <br />Indianapolis, Indiana <br />Bid - $222,789.00 <br />Institutional Equipment Co. <br />Elmhurst, Illinois <br />Bid - $238,318.00 <br />Ruslander & Sons, Inc. <br />Buffalo, New York <br />Bid - $199,885.00 <br />Stafford -Smith <br />Kalamazoo, Michigan <br />Bid - $204,578.00 <br />Bid was signed by Herbert Altschul, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 10% bid bond was submitted. <br />Bid was signed by Michael Wilkinson, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 10% bid bond was submitted. <br />Bid was signed by David S. Coraz, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 10% bid bond was submitted. <br />Bid was signed by Norman J. Diebolt, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 10% bid bond was submitted. <br />Bid was signed by M. A. Wittmann, <br />non -collusion affidavit was in order <br />and a 10i, bid bond was submitted. <br />Bid was signed by David J.
