REGULAR MEETING JULY 18, 1977 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:30 a.m, on Monday, July 18, 1977 by President Patrick M. McMahon, with Mr. McMahon, Mr. Brunner and Mr. Mullen present. Also present was Deputy City Attorney Terry A. Crone. REVIEW OF MINUTES OF MEETINGS Mr. Brunner reported that he had reviewed the minutes of the July. 11 meeting of the Board and he made a motion that they be accepted as submitted. Mr. Mullen seconded the motion and it carried. A special meeting was held on July 7 approving a tent sale at 2701 S. Michigan Street from July 8 through July 25, 1977. Mr. McMahon made a motion that the minutes of the special meeting of July 7 be approved as submitted. Mr. Brunner seconded the motion and it carried. A special meeting was held on July 11, 1977. It was called to the Board's attention that Grady Thompson, operator of the Independent Cab Company and holder of one taxi cab license, has no insurance coverage as required by the Municipal Code. A hearing was set for,July 25, 1977 at 9:30 a.m. to show cause why Mr. Thompson's Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity should not be revoked. Upon motion made by Mr. Mullen, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the minutes of the special meeting of July 11 were approved as submitted. BID OPENING - FIRE DEPARTMENT UNIFORMS AND UNIFORM ACCESSORIES This was the date set for receiving bids for uniforms and uniform accessories for the Fire Department. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri- County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: Shield Uniform Company South Bend, Indiana Bid - Dress Blouse Dress Trouser Winter Cap, Private Summer Cap, Private Bid was signed by Thomas H. Clarisey, President, non -collusion affidavit was in order and a 5% bid bond was submitted. Long Sleeve Work Shirt, Private Short Sleeve Work Shirt, Private Long Sleeve Dress Shirt, Private Short Sleeve Dress Shirt, Private Shoes, Oxford Duty Jacket Reefer or Short Overcoat Belt Tie Socks Cap Badge, Private Buttons Collar Insignia, Private Zuckerbergs Uniforms, Inc.
