4 2: <br />REGULAR MEETING JUNE 6, 1977 <br />REPORT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN UP CREW FOR MAY FILED <br />The report of the Environmental Clean -Up Crew for the month of <br />May was submitted to the Board by Ed Nowak and Joseph Gawrysiak. <br />The report indicated 81 lots cleaned, and also included cleaning <br />trash and weeds on the Memorial Parade route downtown and on <br />the Chapin Street Inner -belt. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the report was filed. <br />Mr. McMahon noted that the weed crew will start working today <br />and will be utilizing CETA personnel to control the weed problem <br />this summer. <br />REQUEST TO DISPOSE OF OBSOLETE EQUIPMENT APPROVED <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />requested approval of the Board for disposition of 1,190 street name <br />signs and 48 walk -wait pedestrian signals. The items are obsolet-e <br />and their scrap value is minimal. Mr. Wadzinski asked permission <br />to sell the items at the River Bend Plaza Garage Sale on June 11 <br />at $1.00 per street name sign and $15.00 per signal. He noted that <br />the sale of pedestrian signals would require the purchaser to sign <br />a statement indicating that the signal would not be displayed in <br />view of the motoring or walking public. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the Board approved the <br />disposition of the item$ listed above up to a limit of $500.00 and <br />requested that the Legal Department prepare the necessary document <br />to be signed by purchasers of the pedestrian signals. <br />BLOCK PARTY APPROVED - TTENTY."SEVENTH STREET <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />reported to the Board that the request of Mrs. Beth Ekstrand to <br />block 27th Street on Friday, June 10 had been reviewed with the <br />Police Department traffic detail. They have no objection to the <br />closing of the street from 4:00 p.m. to midnight, with the stipulation <br />that the entire block, from Hastings Street to Wall Street be closed. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, <br />the recommmendation was approved. <br />BLOCK PARTY APPROVED - RAINBOW DRIVE <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />reported to the Board that the request of the Riverside Manor Horae <br />Owners to block the circle at the end of 3800 Rainbow Drive on <br />July 1 had been reviewed with the Police Department traffic detail. <br />They have no objection to the closing of the street from 8:00 p.m. <br />to 1:00 P.M. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Mullen and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />ST. ADALBERT'S PROCESSION APPROVED - SUNDAY. JUNE 12 <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />reported that he had reviewed the request of St. Adalbert's Church <br />to hold a procession on Sunday, June 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. <br />He recommended that approval be given with the stipulation that the <br />parade use the sidewalk area on Olive Street and cross Olive Street <br />with the aid of a police officer. He further recommended that <br />parking be prohibited on Huron Street, from Phillipa to Olive, and <br />on one side of Phillipa Street. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />BID ADVERTISING APPROVED - CENTURY CENTER THEATRICAL LIGHTING <br />Patrick M. McMahon, Director of Public Works, requested that the <br />Board approve advertising for bids for theatrical lighting equipment <br />for Century Center. Plans and specifications have been prepared by <br />the architect and the Clerk will be advised when bids are to be <br />advertised. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen <br />and carried, the request to advertise for bids was approved. <br />
