REGULAR MEETING JUNE 6, 1977 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, June 6, 1977 by President Patrick M. McMahon, with Mr. McMahon, Mr. Brunner and Mr. Mullen present. Deputy City Attorneys Terry Crone and Georgia Luks were also present. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEiETING APPROVED Mr. McMahon reported that he had reviewed the minutes of the May 312 1977 meeting of the Board and he made a motion that they be approved as submitted. Mr. Mullen seconded the motion and it carried. OPENING OF BIDS - FIXED SEATING FOR CENTURY CENTER This was the date set for receiving bids for Fixed Seating for Century Center. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News, which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: Irwin Seating Company Bid was signed by William W. Irwin, Grand Rapids, Michigan non -collusion affidavit was in order and a 5% bid bond was submitted. Base Bid - $49,356.00 American Seating; Company Bid was signed by Fred E. Vandenberg, Grand Rapids, Michigan non -collusion affidavit was in order and a 5/0 bid bond was submitted. Base Bid - $55,345.50 Imperial Enterprises Bid was signed by R. Q. Calloway, Lafayette, Indiana non -collusion affidavit was in order and a 5% bid bond was submitted. The bid was labeled a voluntary alternate. A company representative present indicated that this was their base bid but they had also submitted an alternate bid. Mr. McMahon noted that the figure listed would be read as the base bid but the matter would be reviewed by the Legal Department and the Building Authority. Bid - $59,980.00. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by PZr. Mullen and carried, the bids were referred to the Division of Engineering and the Civic Center Board of Managers for review and recommendation, with a possible recommendation for award to be made yet this week. OPENING OF BIDS - PAINTING OF PAR1,UNG STRUCTURES This was the date set for receiving bids for the painting of the two parking structures, on Colfax and Jefferson. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: A. Hartke & Sons., Inc. Bid was signed by Donald A. Hartke, South Bend, Indiana Sr., non -collusion affidavit was in order and a 5/0 bid bond was submitted. Bid - Colfax Garage - $16,000.00 Jefferson Garage - $23,000.00 This was the only bid received. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the bid was referred to the Bureau of Parking Garages for review and recormendation.
