ri M <br />REGULAR MEETING MAY 2, 1977 <br />-ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO, 10, 1977 <br />Upon notion made by Mr. _HcMahon,.seconded by Mr. Mullen and <br />carried, the following resolution was adopted: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 10, 1977 <br />[WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works has found it necessary in the <br />best interests of the public safety and welfare to <br />construct certain street improvements on Edison Road, from <br />Ironwood Drive to Hickory Road, and <br />WHEREAS, the cost for these certain improvements are to be financed <br />from Local Roads and Streets, the Cumulative Sewer Sinking <br />and Building Fund, and the Cumulative Capital Improvement <br />Fund, and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works has the authority to make such <br />improvements as provided by the General Assembly, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Public Works orders <br />the Department of Public Works to prepare the plans, <br />specifications, cost estimates, secure the necessary <br />right-of-way by gift, fee or condemnation, permits, <br />• appropriations,,and to seek bids for and to construct said <br />street improvements on Edison Road. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />CITY OF OSUTH BEND <br />_ a P`at'rick M. Mullen, Member <br />ATTEST: <br />s/ Patricia DeClercq, Clerk <br />Dated this 2nd day of May, 1977. <br />BID ADVERTISING APPROVED - CONSTRUCTION OF JOHNSON STREET SEWER <br />Mr. McMahon submitted to the Board a.request to advertise for bids <br />for construction of a sanitary sewer on Johnson Street, between <br />Lincolnway West and Fassnacht Street. The sewer has failed in <br />this location and Mr. McMahon indicated that rather than include <br />this as a Change Order in the present Model Cities Sewer Contract, <br />he felt it would be best to bid this as a new contract, open to <br />all bidders. Murphy Consultants has sewer plans on file and will <br />update them and prepare bid documents. Mr. McMahon made a motion <br />that the Board approve advertising for bids for the Johnson Street <br />Sewer construction. Mr. Mullen seconded the motion and it carried. <br />
