1 5 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 25, 1977 <br />A regular sleeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:30 a.m. on Monday, April 25, 1977 by President Patrick 11. PZcMahon <br />with Mr. Mcliahon, Mr. Brunner and Mr. Mullen present. Deputy City. <br />Attorney Georgia C. Luks was also present. <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED <br />Mr. Brunner reported that he had reviewed the minutes -of the <br />April 18 meeting and he rude a notion that the minutes be approved <br />as submitted. Mr. McMahon seconded the notion and it carried. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - FIXED SEATING FOR CENTURY CENTER <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for fixed seating for Century <br />Center. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South <br />Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be <br />sufficient. The following bids were opened and -publicly read: <br />Irwin Seating Company Bid was signed by William W. <br />P. O. Box 2429 Irwin, non -collusion affidavit <br />Grand Rapids, Pichigan was in order and a 5% bid bond <br />was submitted. <br />Bid - $77,770.00. There were several alternates submitted. <br />American Seating Company Bid was signed by John TV. Dugan, <br />901 Broadway Ave., N. W. non -collusion affidavit was in <br />Grand Rapids, Michigan order and a _.5% bid bond was <br />submitted. <br />Bid was read, with Mrs. Luks to review proper notarization of form. <br />Bid - $77,000.00 - There was an alternate bid submitted. <br />Imperial Enterprises Corp. Bid was signed by R. Q. Calloway, <br />Boa{ 1190 non -collusion affidavit was in <br />Lafayette, Indiana order and a 5% bid bond was <br />submitted. <br />Bid - 75,697.00. There was an alternate bid submitted. <br />Mr. McMahon noted that there was $77,000 budgeted for 880 theatre -type <br />seats. Upon motion made by Pir. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the Board referred the bids to the Director of Public Works <br />for review and reconurlendation. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - SALE OF CITY-011NED REAL ESTATE <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for the ;sale of several parcels <br />of city -owned real estate. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication <br />of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were <br />found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly <br />read: <br />Bid of James R. Rice, 1002 Dover Drive: Offering Price: <br />621 S. Columbia $1130.00 929.00 <br />316 E. South 605.00 555.00 <br />424 E. South ------ 749.00 <br />606 S. Carroll 775.00 749.00 <br />614 S. Columbia 790.00 780.00 <br />Mr. Rice submitted no bid for 424 E. South Street but indicated a <br />bid for all five parcels of $3800.00. Mr. McMahon made a motion <br />that the bid be referred to the City Attorney's Office for review <br />and recommendation. Mr. Brunner seconded the motion and it carried. <br />
