Mr. Venable assured the Board that the LaPorte District <br />will continue to observe this location and recommend any additional <br />controls as they are needed. There was a discussion regarding any <br />further action which could be taken. Mr. McMahon made a motion <br />that the report .be referred to the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting <br />for review and a recommendation from Mr. Wadzinski as to whether <br />or no.t.he concurs with the state findings. The motion further <br />directed that Mr. Wadzinski contact Transpo to request that their <br />buses change their waiting location at that intersection to <br />eliminate the problem with sight distance. Mr. Mullen seconded the <br />motion and it carried. The Board directed that a copy of the <br />report from the state and the request to Mr. Wadzinski be forwarded <br />to Councilman Kopczynski, who first brought this matter to the <br />attention of the Board. <br />IN -KIND CONTRIBUTION VOUCHERS. FROM ACTION, INC. APPROVED <br />A.C.T.I.O.N., Inc. submitted to the Board In -Kind Contribution <br />Vouchers for the rental of old Fire Station #7 at 803 N. Notre <br />Dame Avenue for PZarch in the amount of $843.16 and for the rental <br />of old Fire Station IP10 at 1820 S. Michigan Street for March in <br />the amount of $2,149.33. The vouchers are in accordance with the <br />current leases between the City and A.C.T.I.O.N., Inc. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and carried, the <br />vouchers were approved. <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE APPROVED <br />Ralph J. Wadzinski, Manager of the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />recommended that the Board approve the installation of a No Parking, <br />Passenger Loading Zone on the South Side of St. Vincent Street <br />east of Notre Dame, at the ramped entrance to a nursing horde. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the Board approved the recommendation. <br />STREET LIGHT INSTALLATIONS APPROVED <br />The Bureau of Traffic and Lighting recommended installation of the <br />following street lights: <br />On Edison between Oakridge and Rosemary - 4,000L INC $4.00/rao. <br />On <br />Manitou between Forest and Park <br />7,000L <br />MV <br />$4.80/rlo. <br />On <br />Elwood between Johnson and O'Brien <br />7,000L <br />MV <br />$4.80/mo. <br />On <br />Berkley between Beverly and Oakwood <br />7,000L <br />MV <br />$4.80/mo. <br />On <br />Woodward at alley in 1300 block <br />7,000L <br />MV <br />$4.80/mo. <br />On <br />Thornhill between Newton & McPherson <br />7,000L <br />PIV <br />(3 lights) <br />$7.65x3-$22.95/mo. <br />Total Billing Increase $46.15 <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McP2ahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the installations were approved. <br />APPROVAL OF APPLICATION FOR STATE HIGHWAY CURB CUT PERMIT <br />The Board received an application to be submitted to the Indiana <br />State Highway Commission for making curb cuts at the site of <br />Century Center. Mr. McMahon reviewed the location of the cuts <br />and said there will be four curb cuts. The application will be <br />sent to the State for concurrence and issuance of the permit. <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Mullen and <br />carried, the application was approved. <br />
