REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 281977 <br />BID ADVERTISING APPROVED - BUREAU OF CETIETCERIES TRUCK <br />Robert C. Niezgodski, Bureau of Cemeteries, requested that the Board <br />approve advertising for bids for a truck for which detailed <br />specifications were submitted. James Meehan, Manager of the Bureau <br />of Vehicle Maintenance, was present and advised the Board that he <br />had reviewed the specifications and he recormiended some minor changes. <br />Mr. Niezgodski said he had been advised of the changes. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board <br />approved the specifications as modified by Mr. Meehan and authorized <br />the advertising for bids, with sealed bids to be received on March <br />14, 1977. <br />NOTIFICATION OF SOUTH BEND PARKING COTZPANY PATE INCREASES TABLED <br />Mr. McMahon noted that the Board had received notification of rate <br />changes at four lots operated by the South Bend Parking Company. <br />Mr. Mullen said the Board tabled a similar notification received last <br />week, pending a response from the company to,a request from the City <br />Controller's Office that the amount stipulated in the Municipal Code <br />for open parking lots be paid. Mr. Mullen said his office is still <br />waiting for a reply. He made a motion that this notification be <br />tabled. Mr. McMahon seconded the motion and it carried. <br />INQUIRY OF STATUS OF APPLICATIONS OF THOMAS PHILLIPS <br />The Board was asked about the status of appliations filed by Thomas <br />Phillips to operate a pool hall and dance hall at 1333 Lincolnway, <br />West. Mr. Phillips' brother was present. Mr. Mullen advised him <br />that the City was waiting for the applicant to comply with the City <br />Code by applying for a building permit for his location. Mr. Mullen <br />said he gave this information to Mr. Phillips' attorney last week. <br />He said the City will take no further action on the matter until it <br />has been determined that Mr. Phillips can qualify for a building <br />permit for the location and its proposed use. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, upon motion <br />made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the <br />meeting adjourned at 10:15 a.m. <br />Peter H.
