V '-13. <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 14, 1977 <br />LETTERS FILED CONMENDING SIIQi, REPIOVAL PROJECT <br />The Board received letters from Mrs. Jane Shan, 2022 Swygart <br />Street, and Joseph Bella, 2021 Swygar.t Street, commending the <br />Street Cor.-uaissioner, the Police Department, the Street Department <br />and Councilman Kopczynski for the snow removal project conducted <br />last week. Upon notion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Brunner and carried, the letters were ordered filed and copies, <br />sent to the Departments involved. <br />LEASE APPROVED - SOUTH BEND CIVIC' TIIEATRE, 701 PORTAGE AVENUE <br />A lease between.the Cite of South Bend and the South Bend Civic <br />Theatre for use or old Fire,Station #6 at 701 Portage Avenue <br />was prepared by Deputy CitT.7 Attorney Georgia Luks.and signed by <br />officers of South Bend Civic Theatre. Mrs. Luks explained that <br />the lease is siriilar to the previous lease which expired <br />December_ 31, 1976 and calls for paynent of :1.00 per year. Upon <br />motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the Board approved the lease. <br />REPORT OF STREET DEPART MEIIT ACTIVITIES FOR JANUARY FILED <br />The Board received a report of Street Department activities.for <br />Januar_N7, 1977. Mr. McMahon reviewed the report and noted that <br />approximately 11,000 hours were devoted to snow and ice control. <br />Upon notion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the report N.7as ordered filed. <br />REQUEST FOR USE OF ISLAND PARK REFERRED TO BOARD OF MANAGERS <br />The Board received a request from Ronald Bock, Director of River <br />Bend Plaza, for tiie use of Island Park for a Fashion Show <br />approximately May 20. It was noted that the Civic Center <br />Board of Managers wil�be coordinating events on Island Park <br />and will be establishing a policy for such activities. Upon notionmade by Mr. McMahon, seconded by, TZr. Brunner and carried, the <br />request was filed and referred to the Board of Managers for review. <br />Mr. Bock was advised to contact John Sheehan so that the request <br />can be placed on the agenda for the next Board of Managers meeting. <br />RIVER BEIID PLAZA GARAGE SALE APPROVED <br />The Board received a request from Ronald Bock, Director of River <br />Bend Plaza, for use of the Colfax Parking Garage for a_.Garage <br />Sale to be held on Saturday, June 11, 1977. Mr. Bock said the <br />first garage sale held last year was very successful and he <br />anticipates a larger_ response this year.+ The entire garage will <br />be used for the sale which will be conducted from 9:OO a.m. to <br />4:30 p.ra. A food concession will be operated on the roof. Rental <br />fee for the use of the garage will be $50.00. Upon notion Wade <br />b-N7 Mr. McMahon, seconded b17 Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board approved <br />the request subject to the payrient of .a !T50.00 rental fee and the <br />filing of the necessary liability insurance. <br />CERTIFICALE OF IIISUP.AIICE FILED <br />The Board received a Certificate of Insurance frori E. L. Zinrierman <br />Coripany, Inc. Upon notion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Brunner and carried, the Board filed the certificate. <br />
