REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 14, 1977 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:30 a.m. on Monday, February 14, 1977 by President Patrick 11. <br />McMahon, with Mr. McMahon and Mr. Brunner present. Deputy City <br />Attorney Georgia Luks was also present. ✓ <br />MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING APPROVED <br />Mr. Brunner noted that he had reviewed the minutes of the <br />February 7 meeting and he made a motion that the minutes be <br />approved as submitted. Mr. McMahon seconded the motion and it <br />carried. <br />PUBLIC HEAPING - ASSESSMENT POLL, VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3435 <br />This being the date set, hearing was held on the Assessment Poll <br />for Vacation Resolution No. 3435 for the vacation of the north - <br />south alley between Meade Street and Freriont Street fron the <br />south right-of-way line of Lawton Street to the north right-of-way <br />line of the east -west alley between Lawton Street and Orange Street, <br />alley being between Lot 63 and 64 of West End Subdivision. The <br />Clerk tendered proofs of publication of notice in the South Bend <br />Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. <br />No remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrances were <br />filed. Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner <br />and carried, the Assessment Poll shoeing $0.00 net damages and <br />$0.00 net benefits was approved and said resolution is in all <br />things ratified and confirmed and said proceedings closed. <br />REQUEST TO DISPOSE OF -OBSOLETE FIRE DEPART11ENT EQUIPMENT APPROVED <br />Chief Oscar Van Wiele submitted to the Board a request that <br />the following equipment, obsolete and unrepairable, be disposed of: <br />38 Chevrox Cannisters, 9 Chenox Masks with Cases, 1 Oxygen Air <br />Masi: with Case and 4 Emerson Resuscitators. The Chief also noted <br />that 9 Gamewell Alarm Panels, 3 Joker Panels and 1 Telephone <br />Switchboard formerly declared obsolete were advertised for sale <br />and no bids were received. lie requested that the Board declare <br />all the listed equipment obsolete and approve disposal by eitiatever <br />means possible. Upon notion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Brunner and carried, the Board approved the request to declare the <br />equipment obsolete and authorize its disposal. <br />FILING OF ASSESSMENT POLL - VACATION RESOLUTION 140 3438 <br />Patrick 11. McMahon, Civil City Engineer, files an Assessment Poll <br />for Vacation Resolution -No. 3438 for the vacation of Spruce <br />Street from the south right-of-way line of Washington Street 165 <br />feet south to the north right-of-way line of the east -west alley <br />south of Washington Street, City of South Bend. The following <br />property nay be injuriously or beneficially affected by such <br />vacation: <br />Lot Numbers 1 through 18 in Fowler's lst Subdivision of Bank <br />Out Lots 85 and 86. <br />The Board finds that each of said logs have been benefited in the <br />amount of $0.00 and damaged in the arlount of $0.00. Upon motion <br />made by Mr. McMahon., seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Board <br />filed the Assessment Roll and set.Monday, March 21, 1977 at 9:30 a.m. <br />as the time and the Board of Works Hearing Room as the place where <br />all persons interested in or affected by such vacation may be heard. <br />FILING OF LETTER AND ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 4 RE: SEWAGE <br />TREATMENT FOR VARIOUS MUNICIPALITIES IN.MICHIGAN <br />The Board received the following letter: <br />1 <br />
