REGULAR MEETING <br />JANUARY 31, 1977 <br />A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at <br />9:30 a.m, on ,11onday, January 31, 1977 by President Patrick. 11. 11c1lahon <br />with Mr. McMahon, Tor. Brunner and Mr. Mullen present. Deputy <br />City Attorney Georgia Luks was also present. <br />REVIEW OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEELING <br />Mr. Mullen reported that he had reviewed the minutes of the previous <br />meeting and he made a motion that the minutes be approved as submitted. <br />Mr. McMahon seconded the motion and it carried. <br />PUBLIC HEARING - ASSESSMENT POLL, VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 3434 <br />VACATION CONFIR1ED <br />This being the date set, hearing was held on the Assessment Roll <br />with respect to Vacation Resolution No. 3434 for the vacation of a <br />portion of Parallel Street from the east right-of-way line of College <br />Street in Cottage Grove Addition. The Clerk tendered proofs of <br />publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County <br />News which were found to be sufficient. No remonstrators appeared <br />and no written remonstrances were filed. Upon motion made by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the Assessment Roll <br />showing $0.00 net damages and $0.00 net benefits was approved and <br />said resolution is in all things ratified and confirmed and said <br />proceedings closed. <br />REPORT ON PETITION TO VACATE A PORTION OF SPRUCE STREET <br />The Board received a report from Raymond S. Andrysiak, Bureau of <br />Engineering, on the recommendation of the Area Plan Cor_urzission that <br />the petition to vacate a portion of.Spruce Street be amended to <br />include the vacation of an adjacent north -south alley. Mr. Andrysiak <br />said he would not recor_rrlend the vacation of the additional alley, <br />but if necessary, additional right-of-way at the corner of the <br />alley for turns could be provided. Upon notion made by Mr. McMahon, <br />seconded bar Mr. Brunner and carried, the report was referred to the <br />Bureau o£ Traffic and Lighting for review and Mr. Wadzinski's written <br />comments. <br />APPLICATION FOR MASSAGE PARLOR FILED <br />An applicationof_ Chang Ko to operate a massage parlor at 2614 S. <br />Michigan Street was filed with the Board. Upon notion riade by Mr. <br />McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, the application was <br />referred to the Building Department,_ the Fire Department and the <br />Police Department for appropriate inspections and review in <br />accordance witri the ordinance adopted by the. Common Council, with <br />reports to be made to the Board by February 14 and the Board set <br />Monday, February 21, 1977 at 9:30 a.m, at the regular neeting for <br />a public hearing on the application. <br />BONDS APPROVED <br />Ray S. Andrysiak, Bureau of Engineering, reported to the Board <br />that bonds for Ideal Consolidated, Inc. and Ra?miond Guznan d/b/a <br />ABC Plumbing, Inc. were properly executed and could be filed with <br />the Board. Upon notion made by 11r. McMahon, seconded by Mr. <br />Mullen and carried, the Board approved the bonds. <br />1 <br />
