REGULAR MEETING <br />JANUAR-I 10, 1977 <br />Serviceriaster Building Service, Inc. Bid was signed by Matthew <br />1616 Bower. Street Hopman, non -collusion affidavit <br />Elkhart, Indiana was in order and a certified <br />chech was submitted with the bid. <br />Bid - $20,268.10 per year <br />Upon notion rude by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and <br />carried, the bids were referred to Mr. Paszli, Manager, Municipal <br />Services Facility for review and recommendation. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - RADIO DISPATCHING UNIT, FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />This was the date set for receiving bids for a radio dispatching <br />unit for the Fire Department. The Clerk tendered proofs of <br />publication of notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County <br />News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were <br />opened and publicly read: <br />Meade Electric Company Bid was signed by Robert Magnetti, <br />1825 Sunmer Street non -collusion affidavit was in <br />Hammond, Indiana order and a 1070 bid bond was submitted. <br />Bid - Console - $6,700.00 <br />Status Map Assembly - $6,000.00 <br />Status Map Control Functions - Option 1 - $1,300.00 <br />Option 2 - $1,650.00 <br />Selective Calling - $700.00 <br />Optional Equipment, Chair - $300.00 <br />Vertical Slide Display hit - $900.00 <br />Motorola Communications Bid was signed by R. S. Balzer, <br />700 Nicholas Blvd. non -collusion affidavit was in order <br />Elk Grove Village, Ill. and a 10% bid bond accompanied the bid. <br />Bid - $19,975.00 <br />Upon motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the bids were referred to John Hunt, Bureau of Communications, for <br />review and recoruiendation. <br />BID AWARDED - FIRE DEPARTMENT VEHICLES <br />The Board received a report from Fire Chief Oscar VanWiele that <br />the bids received for six cars for the Fire Department had been <br />reviewed and he recommended that the low bid of Gates Chevrolet <br />Company of $25,266.62.be accepted. Mr. McMahon made a motion that <br />the recommendation be accepted, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried. <br />BID AWARDED - ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT VEHICLE <br />The Board received a recommendation from James Meehan, Manager of <br />the Bureau of Vehicle Maintenance, that the bids for one vehicle <br />for the Engineering Department had been reviewed and that the low bid <br />of the Gates.Chevrolet.Company of.$4,749.00 be accepted. Upon <br />notion nade by Mr. McMahon, seconded by Mr. Brunner and carried, <br />the Board accepted the recommendation to award the bid. <br />BID AWARDED - WEIGHTS AND MEASURES VEHICLE <br />The Board received a recommendation from James Meehan, Manager of " <br />the Bureau of Vehicle Maintenance, that the bids received for one <br />vehicle for the Bureau of Weights and Measures had been reviewed <br />and he recommended that the low bid of Freerlan-Spicer Co., Inc. <br />of $4,300.00 be accepted. Upon.motion made by Mr. McMahon, seconded <br />by Mr. Mullen and carried, the recommendation was approved and the <br />bid awarded. <br />
